What is the connection? Also, what's the point of astrology? >>
I'm far from a specialist in astrology, maybe the point is that there is
no connection except that of an oracle.
from: http://web.cln.com/archives/atlanta/newsstand/062996/E_PARA.HTM
"By "oracular knowing," I refer to knowledge gleaned from some kind of
oracle -- a tool that stimulates the intuition rather than the intellect
alone. The oracle does this usually through the production of images,
translating the problem brought to it into a dream-like language of
images that, when contemplated, help reveal the problem's meaning and
resolution. Even the Greeks' oracle at Delphi was in the hands of
priestesses who spoke in a wildly poetic, imagistic language."
"For Jung, the Tarot and I Ching were direct manifestations of
synchronicity -- examples of how an inner condition can coincide with an
outer condition even though there is no explainable, causal
relationship. Thus, if the inner condition is not exactly understood,
using the Tarot cards or throwing coins for an I Ching reading can
supposedly direct one toward a better understanding of one's inner state
and needs. (Jung in fact turned from astrology to these other oracles
because he found it too causal in its assertion that planets exert a
direct influence. In actuality, though, during the Renaissance there was
an entirely separate school of astrology that was less literal.) "
"Such insight, (validating ones path) is common when the I Ching is
consulted, especially during times when one feels lost or stuck or
unduly anxious. What is required is a mind open to imagination. The I
Ching's great practical value is that it requires no psychic or "reader"
other than yourself. "
<< I tried to learn something about astrology, but I threw it all away
when I found that it simply doesn't work for me - I have characteristics
of all signs and planets. I thought that astrology may be a tool to find
out something about somebody (or yourself), but to read something from
natal chart, you have to have sight, and if you do have it, you don't
really need planets and horoscopes... >>
Yes exactly Domchi, one could say that sight comes when ones sees an
oracles in any form of manifestation so no system of thought is needed
from that point to simply live experience.
It's always strange and beautiful to notice myself in a mirror, and they
are so many unique and changing forms of mirrors...
