I'm just catching up after the onslaught of mail on the
list.
A couple of points ...
detachment, to me, is about allowing things to BE and
not getting caught up in what ever it is.
Domchi is correct, my opinion, you can not live a
detached life ... anyone from the Judeo Christian
tradition (and all others have equivalent) has to
acknowledge this point, cause there was nothing,
historically speaking,
ambivalent about Jesus - NOTHING!
Detachment is about not immobilizing yourself
while allowing others or self to experience.
God does feel the death of each flower ... but
if S/HE got caught up in it to the point that
S/HE couldn't experience anything else ...
what's the point????!!!!
This has a lot to do with FREE WILL ... and
that's a debate in itself!
Yes, praying for something in particular, like
peace in a region ... is asking for THY WILL
not necessarily GOD'S will. I believe the
Lord's Prayer says "THY will be done ... not
MY will ...".
Anyone who loves a child or other being, has
a responsibility to help that being be autonomous,
as reasonably safe as possible, but independent.
The way you get there is not protecting a being
from the bumps of life ... but by being
reasonable and letting each person have an experience
and offering refuge and comfort when they process
an experience.
If we get into OUR WILLS or making decisions FOR
OTHERS ... we are assuming responsibility that isn't
ours.
Detachment is allowing ourselves and others to
experience without enmeshing ourselves in the experience
to the point of not being able to move forward ... or
keeping others from moving forward.
I don't think, even the best psychic among us, knows all
of DIVINE WILLs plan ... we just get pieces .. cause there's
these aspect of being HUMAN that might try to "stop" the
process if we KNOW ALL.

Praying for something or sending energies to something means trying to
implement your own will in world. And nobody of us knows what really is
the best for us or anybody.
I know that avoiding bombing seems tempting, but that may be just the
right thing for you to learn that keeping your butt fine and healthy may
not be the most important thing on the world.
