might be relevant to you are "Starwalking" by P. Bryant and "Awaken
Healing Light Through The Tao" by M. Chia. The Big Dipper features
prominently in the latter, and is connected with North Star meditations
which Taoists practise (any Mantak Chia readers out there might be able
to shed more light on this). Your acdcount of the stars as an
intgelligent network reminds me of the works of sci-fi author Philip K.
Dick, especially "Valis" and "Radio Free Albemuth". VALIS stands for
Vast Active Living Information System.
In "Valis" the protagonist makes contact with an alien satellite
which downloads huge amounts of information into him via a pink light
(and he starts thinking in Latin and having memories of previous
incarnations), and in "Radio Free Albemuth" the VALIS idea is extended
to a stellar network of AI information providers which the protagonist
communes with at night.

Hi once more, Tom.
I have never used a visualisation exercise, Tom, sorry 'bout
that. It just
happened. I stepped out one starry night in spring 1994 and this
"cold"
"light" streamed into my fontanelle. Right in, no membrane... I
looked up,
and the energy seemed to be coming from the Big Dipper above me.
I could
"see" it. Since then I often get tingling sensations of rays
coming down
through the top of my head when I'm outside on a clear night. I
don't get
this when it's overcast, at least I'm not aware of it. Sounds
like I need
to work with this... For me the strongest is definitely from the
Big
Dipper, but I've had a gentler energy from the constellation of
Taurus, and
some from Orion, and once a little from The Pole Star (though
I'm not so
sure of the source on that occasion).
I've shied away from visualisations because I didn't want to
wish it to
exist in case that fine energy got overlaid with my own human
interpretations. I would be *very* interested in any method that
would
allow greater clarity and openness to this energy because it
feels highly
intelligent, and although it's impersonal in human terms, it
really gets to
me. It feels benign, but detached. I try to catch the
information it seems
to communicate, but it requires more centredness and clarity
than I've been
able to maintain. I have always felt a special connection to the
night sky,
but this experience is sometimes a little too close for
comfort...
I hope this this lack of knowledge will not diss my experience
for
others... I think, from my experience of this energy, that a
crown chakra
meditation/visualisation might sensitise you better than an Ajna
chakra
one, though I'm no expert on this. The energy is near vertical
on entry,
and fine, needle-like (but not painful...). Sometimes it's
singular, other
times I get the feeling of more than one ray, though closely
grouped.
Perhaps for me the key has been to be open to the night sky as
an immense
intelligent web, which communicates beyond the time dimension.
Thinking
"off-planet" as a Being seems to help too (sometimes with a
sensation of
being a Being merely inhabiting my body). I used to imagine this
when I was
a teenager, a great way to deal with alienation(!)
I'm also affected by the moon and sun. This is not such a big
deal to me,
as I see everything doing the same around me. This star stuff
feels
altogether more esoteric though. Does anyone know anything more
about this?
