Jan: It can happen in many countries. Eventually, another reason for sacking
is given to avoid accusations of discrimination.

It reminds me of my youth. I was a rather mischievous boy and when the
teacher told about God's punishment, knowing God to exist would have meant
asking forgiveness from the "victims" and the end of all practical jokes.
The teacher also taught us, God was all mercy, but would send thunder and
lightning when we dared to open our eyes during prayer. Combining the two, I
considered taking the risk would at least prove God´s existence. Much to my
disappointment, nothing happened and what was worse, the teacher was looking
around also, violating his "own" rule. He punished me. So I concluded there
was no God.
Some eighteen years later, quite unexpectedly, came the moment of
recognizing my "real nature"; the answer to the (never posed by me)
question "who am I". This, in its turn, triggered the rise of K., burning
away all distinction between the "real nature" and "world". How to name (or
not to name at all) this "real nature" is a different matter.
What you could do is read the Upanishads; it will convey insight into Self
or God. Alternatively, you could read Buddhist sutras; it will convey
insight into Void or no-self. Then, consider meditation in the various
disciplines and decide what fits you best. Your "real nature" won't be
affected by your choice :>)
