Well, there are a lot of people in the U.S. that still pooh the
reincarnation theory, and some will even tell you that you're doomed to go
to hell for thinking such a thing exists. Usually these are the
fundamentalists and extremists in the religious field. I think the latest
poll taken was somewhere in the upper two thirds of the population that
believe in reincarnation and karma.
I would think that in the U.K. that it would be quite an open topic. You
have had many spiritualist, psychics, etc. that seem to rival the ones we
have in the U.S., the Theosophical Society of England has a branch in
Pasadena, California - and many of the spiritualists from the U.K. are
there teaching and giving readings.
Anyway, as the saying goes, "If you do not believe in reincarnation now,
you will - sooner or later"
