This has probably been said enough - of course there are many different
cultures who have explored the same basic fundamentals of the flow of prana,
chi, etc. ..... there are also many schools of thought within any one
culture and on and on - dividing down until everybody has there own unique
framework - it is interesting to observe the differences and similarities -
everybody follows their own path - whether the goal is the same - not sure.

Sanskrit seems to me to have a certain magic but I do not know very much -
i can sense my affinity and try to spend some time increasing my knowledge -
But then language in general and words (meanings, intent) of any language
seem to have taken on a more meaningful and symbolic role in my life. I am
drawn to word games - anagrams things like that - and can get lost in the
dictionary or the "Word of the Day" just following the etymology and
appreciating the difficulty of trying to communicate using language and
words - I see others use play on words etc. on this list - it seems
indicative of a certain type of mind - Sanskrit it very ancient - (a root
language for the Indo-European languages to follow?) -

Recently I was drawn to explore more of the way of the Mayas - part of my
curiosity on how other cultures have viewed a "spiritual awakening". I was
fascinated that their language not only has words for chakra, and kundalini
but also that they are remarkably close in form to the Sanskrit words we
have adopted-

For kundalini the Mayan words are: (quoting here from "Mayan
Science/Religion" by Hunbatz Men)

  K'ultanlilni and a variation K'ulthanlilni -
(Hunbatz breaks these words down into constituent parts)
K'u - Sacred, God, and name of the pyramid; the first sound a human makes
upon arriving in the world.
K'ul - coccyx, the sacred place where solar energy is deposited at the
base of the spine. It can also mean k'u - "sacred", "God", etc. - with the
"L", contraction of lil, "vibration."
K'ultan - literally it means coccyx and its location ....the word also
says k'u, "God" or "pyramid" of lil- "vibration" as seen above.

(he goes on to build up to the full meaning of K'ultanlilni and
K'ulthanlilni -)

composite meaning - the coccyx as the place of vibration is directly
related to the nose because it is where the breath of the Sun God enters -
and

Coccyx of vibration, speak to the vibration, and also know how to breath
properly in order to generate movement of those faculties of Hunab K'u
residing in the coccyx: respectively.

The Mayan word for chakra is chacla.

But what about the serpent - it is very much in evidence in Mayan symbology,
drawings, figurines and symbolic words of the forces inherent in the
chakras. They also tend to look at words in reverse - which I admit is a
game that I find quite interesting.

hmm - nicely stated just let them unfold- However, I sometimes make an
analogy to various types of volcanoes - if there is a large blockage in the
flow of the magma up and out - the pressure can build till there is a
spectacular display of shooting ash into the sky and huge pyroplastic
flows - or the volcano can just sort of bubble along - with some lava
lows - much more peaceful - not sure if good analogy though- in some cases
it is more difficult to be still and be balanced ..........................
it is nice when the teeter-totter is occupied by two equivalent masses - and
the movement up and down obtains relative balance in the time-continuum -
moving but balanced -

Diet appears to me to be important - there are of course exceptions - Not
so much as not eating meat or not consuming alcohol - but in the quality of
the food and the completeness, grease content etc.. I lived on MacDonald's
after K awakening to try to be more able to live in the world - I could get
on my organic and biodynamic farming kick - and complain of the quality of
food since western agriculture has adopted commercial fertilizers and how
this has changed the state of the soil and in general of our purchased
food - but I guess I just did.

I wonder if some of the emphasis on not ejaculating outward was due to
problems in obtaining replacement for minerals etc - lost - But, I suppose I
need to look at this from a more spiritual and symbolic framework and less
from a biological perspective.
