I dreamt last night that our piece of land here, got visited by herds of
cows and deer, grazing peacefully, munching on the wheat that was coming
along so nicely.
How to explain dreams?
Do not.... explain.
Do not ....look for symbolic meanings *behind* a dream.
Do not look for yourself and don't give others a chance for a kick at your
can (of worms) and do not look it up in books.
Freud saw a penis everywhere, Jung only looked for old stuff (archetypes).
I'm very irreverant here, but I have to be and can be ;-)
We have to be daring enough to find our * good selves* in our dreams, our
GOOD unadulterated selves.
Finding out is not the same as interpreting, finding starts with "looking
better", seeing more detail, getting a better picture of the environment
where you are looking. The total fysical, sensual, emotional and...
non-sensical environment.
So.... to find it is more helpfull to also check out other clues, not just
the visual but sensual and other as well.
Not only what you saw but what you felt. Your whole range of senses and
what not, is in your dream.
SSSooo, what you felt , your other senses, etc.....in addition to the
pittor-risque (pun) That gets you closer to you, dreamer!
To find out who you are.
SSSooo, do not interpret dreams. If you explain or interpret dreams you add
another layer of distance between the "thing" you dreamt about and yourself
the dreamer.
Dreams are already a translation or representation of whatever "thing"came
to you. Explanations that seem to give understanding, only remove you
further from your dreamed con-figurations.
"Understanding" dreams will not lead you to the dreamer, yourself.
Understanding does not lead to knowledge. Understanding is indirect
explanation. A dream is already one or two layers removed from you.
The act of trying to understand makes you *dream even more complex dreams*
later etc...and so on.
Different people may have a different understanding of an identical
situation or in this case your dream. Their interpretations will not lead
to your self-knowledge.
For human beings, *direct knowledge* gets you the closest to what you want
to be with.... love
or.... what wants to be with you....love you.
Knowledge however, still maintains some separation between you and the
"thing" you love or "that" which loves you. The reason for that separation
is the fact that we are conditioned to live in duality, and duality comes
in many forms:
You / me
I / You
Earth / Heaven
Mind / Body
Up / Down
Body / Spirit
Nature / Spirit
Male / Female
Good / Bad
God / Devil
Liberation / Damnation
... / ...
There is no end to this. Some readers will at this point say that many of
these listed terms have not much to do with dualism, well hold... no, save
your breath.
A simple argument will have you agree in a second.
But.... now I'm naughty... why having the argument at all, just :-) agree.
Duality has to do with a scientifcally unfounded concept of "opposites".
Opposites do not exist. (We will get back to dreams later.)
Is plus the opposite of minus?
".....OK?," you say , "Yesss."
Is positive current the opposite of negative current....remember your
highschool days!
Exact science uses scalar fields to overcome those useful but wrong concepts.
Scalar Fields?
Think of a field of wheat, a whole field of nice healthy long stems.
Imagine now that you have trouble with depth perception and you are a bit
naive.... just imagine.
You are looking carefully (?) and you notice that there are patches of
shorter stems and patches of longer ones. You also notice a certain rythm
in the patches. But you find it strange that those stems seem to grow
longer or shorter depending where you look, what patch you are looking at,
and when you are looking.
Let's say you have a smart friend (which is never good;-) and you ask in
your naivity, "How come?.... How come that some of these wheat plants are
growing shorter and others longer.... in a wavy kind of way?"
Well, you've got a good friend, so you won't be called dumb. However with
that peculiar way of addressing you, your friend tells you that it is the
wind. Your friend will explain explain everything, nicely circum-ambulating
your shortcomings, lest you be hurt.
On top of the fact that you have trouble with depth perception you also
seem to have an underdeveloped sense to feel from where the wind blows.
Your friend explains, and explains, but to no avail. You ain't got the
senses so it don't make no sense.
The only thing you see, kind of, is the long and the short of things.
Short / Long,
High / Low
Stupid / Smart
It all looks like opposites to you... looks like impossible to me.
Anyway your friend is going to tell you a story and the story is very much
the same as the story I just told you.
At some point, while you are not paying attention to that long account, you
discover that by looking better... you decide to step a little closer to
minimize the misinformation from your challenged eyesight...by looking
better, you are getting it.
You got it!
It was the wind, the appearance of higher or lower stalks was brought about
by an unrelated factor. In fact the plant did not even notice, they are
just enjoying the dance. (Also a bit challenged by the lack of some sense:-)
Your friend's story did not help, just like my story may not, explanations
do not create knowledge.
Looking better, sensing better, feeling better makes you know better.
When all your senses, and there are more than five, are being acknowledged
your connection with the sensed becomes closer....so close even that
knowledge with a bit of separation (carnal or fysical knowledge) turns into
more direct knowing...eventually love.
Now back to the dream, your rhinoceros, my cows and deer.
What else did we observe over and above what we saw with our dream-eyes.
You sensed gentleness, I sensed peace...
What did you feel? Trust, comfort, strength, the sweetness of gentilty?
What was the weather like...
No kidding, look at the detail, all of it, and the evidence will be
mounting....
Self evidently.
BTW
The general concept of the duality of opposites may be a good working
hypothesis, but it is no more than that.
The obviousness of opposites, seems unquestionable to us, but only in the
short range.
Our depth-perception here on earth, in this 3 dimensional world is not that
great, especially if on top of that, we still use 2 dimensional linear
thinking leftover from a less knowledgable era of our human history. I'm
not even thinking about that fourth dimension that we call time. I only
know one scientist who is tackling multidimensional time seriously in a
non-hypothetical way.
What a rhinoceros can lead to!!!
PS.
Now what about opposites of good and bad karma, good and evil, mind and
body, life and death, past and future lives
Those opposites do not exist.....they just a working hypothesis...don't let
reality be tainted by it.
Are Yes an No opposites?
The question now should useless also the answer.
Truth ain't got nothing to do with it.
