there is an IOU established in the great karma bank in the sky. Or I was
terrible and did a terrible wrong - so must have some "bad karma" , i.e.
created a debit in the bank. And we go on and on in our reincarnations
doing what - trying to perfect ourselves or erase are karma debt or win
brownie points? Good or bad according to what doctrine? I don't think so.

Ah, yes, the "I don't think so" doctrine... :o) As I understand it, the
notion of karma is right in there with the notion of maya, the illusion of
being separate. We are, in the phenomenal realms, karmically "constrained
to act". It's a law in the nature of phenomenal reality. Bummer, eh? On the
other hand...
So everything that has its opposite generates karma. That's all. This stuff
about "good" and "bad" karma is another layer of maya placed on something
already winding us up (desire nature and all). In the phenomenal realms
though, we can, through learning and illumination, choose how our phenomena
affect us and others. And this is what the New Age deal seems to me to be
about. We attempt to create a more loving, high, compassionate "reality",
ultimately realising that our true being is naturally without judgement and
therefore already at peace. Gets a bit Zen... I'm sometimes a bit in awe of
it, actually, which gets in my way somewhat (as long as I'm attached to not
being in awe of it -- etc).
> Perhaps all is just a stage as Shakespeare said - we are on a
holodeck playing parts - probably nirvana gets boring and being a good
enlightened person is boring - if there were no conflicts and everybody
agreed where would the dynamics be. I for one sometimes like to play the
devil. We can say "Computer end program" and see the yellow gridlines on
are consciousness. Or one must venture into the ASAT periodically - One
must make the yin/yang mandala spin to have gray.
I'm with that: the compassion of seeing someone carrying out a difficult
path involving pain and suffering is a reminder of the oneness of us all,
prismed out into karma. Or a pain in the proverbial, depending on one's
momentary point of consciousness. As games go, healing others is a good
illusion in my book, although I'd not want to get superior about it. I am
getting into meditation big time, because things are getting soo busy these
days, and I'm still(?) working on detachment.
Incidentally, where do fractal events fit into karma? Does karma bifurcate
into replications of itself (especially these days)? Is instant karma
happening, or do we still have to add water? Are we sure that past lives we
experience are ours, and not an identification with an experience in the
Akashic? Does it matter? Do we just tune into whatever we correspond to?
Why can't all my friends get on with each other? Moan, moan, koan...

for a lot of list messages and brings up issues of conflict - great.
As long as we own up to that...
