Hello, Kevin: The K-list has moved.. you will find the new K-list at
http://www.list-server.net/kundalini/sub.shtml
I have forwarded your post onto the new posting address.
Reading your post, what comes to me is that problems in the legs are often associated with issues of not moving forward in your life. It is no coincidence, I think, that it came on, apparently one month after you stopped going to be taught by your Sensei.
I'm not an MD, but my advice is to postpone the surgery and go speak to your sensei about what is hapenning with your legs. Your girlfrend feels a bond between you and he.. and this is not uncommon, if he is good.. and if you swore any kind of oath of loyalty to be his student, the leg pains might be your unconscious trying to make you keep your promise. The Dragon symbols in Martial arts are symbols of Kundalini. The path is smoother with a guide. Go talk to your Sensei.

>Hi all. I am a 25 year old male living in Calgary, Canada. I am very
>curious about Kundlini and experiences regarding an awakening, I am also
>very cautious about this too. I would like some opinions on my own
>experiences, they are very minor and not at all dramatic.
>
> When I was about 8 years old my parents went through a divorce that I
>found emotionally disturbing, my mothers subsequent re-marriage was also
>a source of emotional distraught as well. During this time I used to
>have strange, almost feverish dreams, usually at night. I would vision
>myself "flying" over an endless field of garbage. My mind would grasp
>the concept of infinity whilst this was occurring. I didnt ever here the
>word infinity actually enunciated, I just had this strange sense of
>"infinity" (Hard to put into mere words!) Often these "dreams" were
>accompanied by a sense that the room I was in was much larger then
>normal. My intuitive sense of where the walls in my room were was
>utterly baffled, I could "feel" that the walls were much further away
>from me then they should have been. This sense of "smallness" would
>usually come on with the dreams. My mother took me the hospital one
>early morning, but of course, nothing was wrong with me. We only ever
>went once as I stopped telling her about these episodes afterwards, and
>just began to deal with them on my own. Often I was rather frightened
>and would read a children's book to calm down, even when I was older.
>
> Eventually these episodes seemed to stop on their own. I experienced
>nothing unusual for many years. Perhaps three years ago, I had the same
>thing happen again, minus the dreams. Only the sense of "smallness" was
>there, and this was after what should have been an emotional situation
>with a girlfriend after she left my house and I went to lie down and
>ponder. There were perhaps a couple more "accidental" episodes like this
>in the following years.
>
> About a year ago I started training in Ninjitsu. I only trained for
>three months consistently, but I always think about it and keep telling
>myself and others that I'm going to "get back into it". I still move
>around my room and practice with my HanBo (half-staff) on my own. The
>interesting thing is that it was a strange series of coincidences that
>introduced me to my Sensai, Jay Creasey. Example: My current girlfriend
>is a Kindergarten teacher, she teaches on the other side of town and as
>it turns out one of Jay's kids is in her class, none of us knew this
>until he was in to pick up his daughter and ran into Susanne in her
>classroom! Weird. I keep fairly regular contact with my Jay, even though
>I am not training. The point of the Ninjitsu is that it was there that I
>first learned to "Breath" and to meditate. Since learning to relax and
>be aware of my breathing while meditating, I have been able to bring
>about this feeling of "Smallness" on my own, without any impetus aside
>from the meditation. Coincidence? My fluke introduction to Jay leads to
>my discovery of breath control and my subsequent re-discovery of this
>"smallness" feeling when relaxed.

>I have developed some symptoms that may be related....I dont know...
>About eight months ago I was diagnosed with a recurring, repetitive
>stress disorder in my lower legs. Specifically the disorder is called
>Exertion Compartment Syndrome. Basically, some sort of stress or injury
>has cause the fascia around my anterior compartment in my calves to lose
>elasticity, thus when I walk too much or engage in exercise with my
>legs, I get severe cramping in the outside, front part of my lower legs.
>This leads to numbness and a lack of motor control in my feet. I am
>slated to have surgery to correct this, the technique requires that the
>surgeon cut the offending muscle sheath to give more room to the larger
>muscles underneath. Is this condition a symptom of imbalance in my
>"energy"? I dont know. It came about out of nowhere and has me
>frustrated and out of shape.
>
>That brings us to right know! Last night I was looking for information
>on Glenn Morris' book, Path Notes of an American Ninja Master (a book
>that has information on Kundalini as well) I had no prior knowledge of
>Kundalini, in fact I had never heard of it! I found a link to some
>Kundalini sites and started to browse, learning more and more about this
>force. After I went to bed, I fell asleep rather quickly, I had planned
>to stay awake awhile and try to bring about the "smallness" feeling and
>explore it a little. Last night I dreamed (I think I was dreaming) that
>I was lying in bed and energy was coursing up and down my spine. It was
>rising and rising and then, out of fear, I put a stop to it by thinking
>for it to go away. (must have been a dream---I was exercising dream
>control) Funny thing is, I woke up (I think) and I, for no good reason,
>rolled over in my bed and moved my knees out, away from my body and
>brought my heels up to my bum. A "frog" stretch, we used to call it.
>Weird. I also dreamed of my Sensai, I cant remember what we were doing
>though. Just sitting there. I tried to explore these feelings this
>morning but couldnt. Everything was normal. I am curious if all these
>things are related to Kundalini. I am going to call my Sensai and tell
>him about it. My girlfriend thinks that him and I are "connected" in
>some way.....I guess time will tell!
>
>Any opinions, comments ideas or strategies that any body out there can
>send me would be greatly appreciated!
>Even if you write just to tell me that I'm way of base and reading too
>much into too little, at least I'll know!
>
>Thanks to all that read my lengthy e-mail!
