I appreciate Bill's peace-making efforts, but I can't avoid a few niggling
questions. The first one to come to mind is, did Bill read
Robert/Martin/Tamra's post of 12/30/98, the one entitled, "From Martin?"
After reading Mystress Angelique's reply to it, and at the suggestion of
some of the list members, I pulled it out of Eudora's trashcan, and read
it. I had to read it in bits and pieces, because it was so embedded with
hostility and ugliness that I really couldn't stomach it all at once.
Eventually, I got it read, threats and all.
So I had to ask myself first--and ultimately, I guess, all of us--if, as
Martin/Robert/Tamra say, the purpose of the new list (and the reason for
ousting us from KRC) is to provide a comfortable place for newbies to
gather, what can be said of list managers who use threats, psychic warfare,
and manipulative, dishonest tactics? Should someone in a vulnerable state
of k-crisis really be exposed to that? What happens when a list member,
soaring on ego psychosis, confronts Martin's authority? Will that person
come under psychic attack, simply because although Martin has learned a few
tricks of the trade, he hasn't learned how to use them wisely?
You know, we've seen people in this very situation here, on a really big
k-high and ego out of control--and here, on this list, people handle it
with patience, understanding, and love, yet without feeding that
monstrously growing ego. Some of them were even first time posters to this
list.
A few folks (and I'm one) think that this triad is really one person.
Whether they are or not isn't the point; what IS the point, though, is that
Robert and Tamra are at the very least the agents for Martin, working at
his behest. One can tell a lot about people by their associates. Robert's
cruelty, Tamra's duplicity, Martin's threats...what can be said of any one
of them on that basis alone?
Which brings me to another question that arose in meditation this morning.
Does the K-list really =want= to be listed in the same place with Martin's?
It's not my decision to make, for which I'm very relieved, but if Mystress
Angelique ever takes a vote, I would say, chuck the KRC, and keep our
current site. Get it listed with search engines, whatever it takes--but
the original ousting may well have been the Universe's New Years gift to
all of us. This list as a whole, perhaps because of the Mystress' wise
steering of our little ship over these sometimes stormy waters, is a safe
haven for kundalini-bound travelers.
Those questions aside, I share Bill's awe of the green flash. I've been
graced by it a few times myself when I lived on the Gulf Coast. Magic,
sheer magic. Thanks to Bill for reminding me.
