Harsha: Beautifully put! Now you just have to explain it to dear Kurt!

KK:

Harsha,

Gosh, let me see if I can understand it on my own - that will save Jan the
trouble. Maybe it is that shakti is omnipresent and therefore equally in
all people. Is that it? Come on, did I get it?

Anyway, Harsha, if you are living in a state of non-duality, as your
statements often would imply,
then we can all weep that before you attained enlightenment you did not
perform actions that would have created the karma that would have made you
a skillful teacher, capable of subtly drawing people into your view. Now
that you're enlightened there's probably nothing that you are inclined to
do about it (and nothing the rest of us can do about it either).

And if a state of non-duality is not your living reality then I don't know
why you have chosen to speak the way that you do. I can say that back when
I used to talk that way, it was because I found it easier to feign an
enlightened ``rap'' than to actually deal with the variety of unpleasant
emotions that I truly had about things. Over time I realized how
unauthentic this was - and what the hell - nobody ever appreciated my rap
for very long anyway.

All that I am able to gather from a good percentage of the discourse that
you direct toward me is either: 1) you know something I don't or 2) you've
realized something I haven't. In itself this would not be surprising. Most
people do know something I don't and have realized something I haven't.
However, most people 1) don't' point this out on a regular basis and 2) if
I inquire they make an honest attempt to convey what it is that they know.
>From my perspective most responses you have given to my inquiries for
clarification have either been deflective (e.g. advanced practitioners are
aware of this) or trivial (e.g. read Swami Sivananda's book on pranayama).

I'm writing this to you because I don't get much value out of your posts
but keep thinking if you *genuinely* tried, even a little, to convey
something of value to me, then it is likely I would.

And I'm sending this to the group as a whole because it was only after I
read someone's comments regarding your Ramana dialectic and other's
comments regarding your sense of humor that I began to think that I wasn't
the only one who gets tired of these comments. I'm sure that many people
appreciate your posts - unfortunately I'm not often one of them.

Dear Kurt, I am glad you decided "honesty is the best policy"..for
yourself, but why do you assume that Harsha is in any way insincere??
Perhaps he merely expresses his point of view here, as we all do: so you
are not required to LIKE it...at least we know where Harsha
stands. I, for one, am getting tired of this game of one-up-man-ship
wherein any "differences of opinion" must be argued about. It seems
unreasonable to expect any consensus reality to emerge here on the list,
and the diversity is actually quite fascinating. If people could only
express differences without degenerating into trading insults..it would
be more pleasant for ALL of us to read the posts.

WELL... gee... golly...Kurt, now you have hit the nail on the head
with that last remark. But its the definition of the way they find
happiness may possibly be different?? I mean, if Harsha is happy being
the way he is, why not let him?? If we all start changing to please
someone else on the list..it will be like musical chairs..would YOU
change to make Harsha happy?? Oh, this is just all too silly.
I, for one, enjoy the diversity here, and a "good conflict of opinion"
seems about par for the course here...its not just you, but recently
Stuart and someone also degenerated into trading personal insults and
it all began with some genuine concern...why is it so hard for people to
see that a difference of opinion need not be taken so personally??
If we keep this up, soon we will *silence* anyone and everyone..where
will be the fun in that??

Please, not just Kurt, but would everyone please to consider the
feelings of others??I was once very much afraid to even post here, due
to this tendency of the list to attack people.
How difficult can it be to understand that we have a diversity here, but
its all aimed at growing spiritually and learning from others??
I really love this list and have come to depend on the richness it
provides..can't we all just get along better?
With Love,

In your right mind
you say it cannot be done:
Walking the high wire walk
without the wire.

You could like being lost..
Once you have come this far
What you dream up is deeper
than what you know.
Below the sound the mind makes..
A melody.

At the end of breathing
as we know it to be
one breath.
Humming a dreamy mantra
a song of the spells
we want to be under.

No, you won't. Don't even think about it.
Take another look at what you are saying about others, O stuart the
proudly spiritual for 41 years.. look at the mirror. This is about you.

You whined repeatedly that no-one would give you horror stories of
pranayana, breath control, so often that I was moved to give you some
rather personal examples from my own life. Not without some hesitiation.
I felt my answer, and the effort I took to write it was dismissed, and
with some patronizing attitudes added in. I enjoy writing for it's own
sake, but I prefer to give my attention where it is appreciated. (shrug) I
won't be in a hurry to respond to your requests for information in the
future.

Tuning into the reasons behind the Yogi's reluctance to give you the
horror stories you seek, I got a metaphor. A story.
Sometime in the seventies, some idiot discovered a new way to get high.
By jamming the door closure of a microwave oven, and sticking their head
inside it while it was on, and microwaving their brain. Brain cells being
killed off by cooking creates a high, apparently. Also permanent brain
damage, of course.
This was so ridiculous, that "Saturday Night Live" did a sketch on it,
thereby broadcasting the idea to impressionable folks all over. The result?
Suddenly kids were being checked into hospital with microwaved brains all
over the country.
Ditto for the liquid paper sniffers.
All the warning labels on a can of draino, are not enough to keep some
folks from committing slow and painful suicide by eating it.
Mebbie the question is not what makes pranayama so dangerous,
unsupervised, but rather whence comes this determined fascination of yours
to know the horror stories?
  What is that about??
While you are at it, why not research the relationship between Tummo fire
and spontaneous human combustion? Tummo fire is also created thru attention
to focused breathing, and focusing on the power chakra, among other things,
and from evidence of spontaneous human combustion, it is apparent that
folks are catching fire from the inside out. Sure makes me wonder..

   Blessings, Mystress.

(bouncy 50's pop music...)
I asked the witch Doctor he told me what to say and he said
"Oooh, eee, ooh ah ah, ding, dang, pranayama yin yang,
Oooh, eee, ooh ah ah, ding dang pranayama, Yin/Yang."

Hello Kurt - I've been considering this general topic of
"harrassment from above" from the point of view of
responsibility and the immense difficulty of being an
adequate teacher in a semi-public forum like this. This list
comprises many sensitive people at many different stages
in many different paths. Being "properly helpful" to
any particular person carries the additional weight of
making sure that one's high-leverage insights intended for
ONE person in ONE particular path don't inadvertently trigger
a dangerous trip in someone less prepared. That's a very risky
undertaking.

This is why I'm not sure that anyone can expect much "direct" help
from Harsha or anyone else thru this medium. It's pretty clear
that Harsha's humorous jabs are aimed to tweak at a VERY high level --
and in dangerous territory if such insights were to be picked
up by a precocious aspirant unprepared to have their head explode
(or even Im-plode).

I do believe *from my observations* that Harsha's intents
are genuine and that he's doing it because he loves you
like a nagging mother and wants you to be his pal. I'm sure
he's doing what he believes best, from his perspective, from
his path, with his wisdom. And tho it may sound strange for
someone at "his level", it's really no contradiction that he
wants you to love him back.

Best wishes, Kurt and All... -rik

Jan says:
It is an interesting model. However, another property is selectivity. It
would account for the fact that few are insensitive for a Satguru (highest
power). The model deserves to be developed even further. Every sentient
being is equipped with both a receiver (rx) and a transmitter (tx). The
path
of self-realization means that the receiver (rx) is permanently improved.
Enlightenment then, means that one's rx starts receiving one's tx.

KK: I'm afraid you lost me here.
Jan:
Insufficient knowledge (no master for initiation) will often result in a
wrong interpretation - the reception is thought to originate from the
highest possible source: one with full authority. In other words, AS VERY
IMPORTANT... The model indicates that the start of enlightenment will be
different for everyone. With Self-realization a discontinuity takes place.
Instead of an individual tx, it will be experienced that there is only one
tx - the same one for everyone. This tx uses one carrier with sub-carriers
and all possible (combinable) forms of modulation (methods to put
information onto the carrier). How could the seemingly sudden change take
place? The individual carrier (initiated by the master) was conveying
information to build a superior receiver with the possibility of further
expansion.

KK: this was pretty hard for me to follow as well. I would say that the
role of the master is to help you to tune your receiver into the right
channel so you can pick up the message that is being cosmically broadcasted
at all times.

Jan:
The new rx ready for use means the old rx can be discarded of.
The new rx has a direction-finder so the illusion of the individual tx is
gone. The model shows that some of the views now will be radically changed,
but not all. Because the construction of the new rx took a long time, some
of the attitudes for its construction will be kept, despite the fact that
they now are obsolete. Although for a silent saint the reason to remain
silent will be gone, it will take some time before the new rx conveys the
tiny signals from those nearby: "talk to us please". The realized saint
will
give in of course. For a Bodhisattva the situation will be different. The
rx
will be further engineered to a sensivity and selectivity, enabling the
reception of weak tx-es from all sentient beings. The model leaves plenty
of
room for all other realized ones. They differ only in rx (responsiveness) -
not in tx (power) nor in information (shakti). But the responsiveness is
transmitted also - it is on one of the strong sub-carriers. If you have a
response on its frequency, you just found your guru. As with any model, it
has its flaws. But it explains some issues that cannot be properly
addressed
to otherwise.
More down to earth there could be implications too. A school teacher with
shakti undoubtedly will influence students, even those with a better talent
for other disciplines. Those students would feel rather unmotivated when
having to continue under a teacher with no shakti, possibly to the extent
of
changing their study or even dropping out. If the effect can be quantified
(in terms of lost years or bad results) it could be an incentive to
introduce meditation in schools in a form that doesn't create a
contradiction or conflict with existing religions. This would enable
students to be (more) conscious of their choices in life.

KK: Lost again. I would say that the best teachers are able to broadcast on
multiple channels at the same time. Thus they are able to reach almost
everyone. Some people are shut down on all channels - so some people will
simply not be reached.

Jan:

IMO, Kurt presented us with an excellent subject to reflect upon...

Jan

KK:
Ok. Now I'm starting to understand what you mean again. I agree
completely!! ;-)

This reminded me of something! (ohhhh Gawd, not another story....)

Kundalini Awakening has always reminded me of being pregnant with child,
except of course, we are giving birth to the Christ within. We have the seed
planted within us when we fall in love with the idea of God, Enlightenment,
Peace. We see the spiritual growth within us, the discipline and love we give
to this seed. As the seed begins moving and growing in our body, many things
occur - on one hand, we may get sick, we get tired.... sometimes the pregnancy
must be carried through with great consideration to the Mum -- she may have to
be bedridden, kept on a certain type diet, no sex, or many other things to
assure a good delivery. On the other hand, the pregnancy may be perfectly
simple and easy, with no problems to the Mum, the baby, or the pregnancy (and
you can have sex up until birth!).

Now this is about the time that all your friends come and tell you of their
experience of labor - and with great detail of their last 4 kids, 56 hours of
labor with each, blah blah blah.... scares the peerooney outta ya. And each
person that tells you is worst than the last. You don't even remember the
good n easy labor stories told to you! (of course this didn't stop me from
telling you my k horror stories! LOL! and I thought it was part of my
*healing*.... maybe its just part of the process - hey! another perspective!)

anyway....

(and just as we now have Lamaze Classes to help you with the labor, we also
have Kundalini Teachers and the Kundalini List and websites to help show the
way, to have the easiest transition.)

The expansion and contraction of labor reminds me of the bliss and the down
days prior to the birth of our Christ within. Some people's labor/awakening
may be long and hard -- others easy and simple. It helps to have a focus, to
know the use of breath, and to have a good coach alongside of you. (hmmmmm)

The transition of the birth is the worst for a pregnant woman - this seems to
me to be when we have our most difficult time during a K awakening, when the
Christ is 'on its way' -- it is painful, fearful.... this is when you see the
women screaming in the movies! This is most likely when an unbalanced
awakening occurs, because of the lack of knowledge of what is happening, the
absence of a qualified Lamaze/Kundalini Coach... maybe even unforseen
problems.

And then, out pops the baby. You will see the *light* as you come out of your
own womb, out of the darkness. Your Christ within is born. It is now You.
So beautiful and unconditionally loving to all beings and things.

Born yet again, but this time to keep the innocence, acceptance, unconditional
love, and a knowing that all of our needs are already met.

But this time around, WE WILL remember.

Love & Happy Labor,
xxxtg
