Mideast Update #3
Feb. 21, 1998
Friends,
Michael Lightweaver here with Network 2012. This is an update following
the other two bulletins I sent over the past week regarding our collective
efforts to use the tools of visualization, meditation and prayer to bring a
just and peaceful resolution to the current crisis in the Mideast - a crisis
which has planetary implications. If you did not receive the first or second
bulletin and wish to do so, just let me know. Also, if you have your own
network and deem it appropriate, please pass this information on, or if you
received this as a "forward" and want to be added to our mailing list for
direct alerts, let me know. And thirdly, if for any reason you wish to be
removed from further mailings, just let me know and I will permanently remove
your name from my address book.
The first item is a follow-up report on Jimmy Twymans Peace Concert in
Bagdad on Friday. The second is an e-mail I just received from a Palestinian
co-worker in Galilee. I would encourage your to e-mail a brief note of
support to both of these unsung heros who are working very bravely and
unselfishly fulltime on behalf of all of us and our children toward a more
just and peaceful planet.
As I mentioned in my first bulletin, I will be leaving on Saturday the 28th
for the mideast to meet with several groups of Light workers in the region who
are also working very intensely to shift the energy at this time. I
personally feel that the next two or three weeks are the most critical ones we
will face between now and the end of the millinimum, and could well set the
course for the direction our planet will take in Millenimum Three. Let us do
all we can to maintain an energy of The Oneness of humanity - and indeed, all
creation - and not allow the drama of this current polarization and the
emotions of fear, anger, judgement or blame to blind us to our purpose at this
time.

THIS JUST IN FROM BAGHDAD
Friday, February 20,
James Twyman is doing fine after yesterday's scheduled meeting with Iraqi
President, Saddam Hussein!!
Jimmy called today at approximately noon time E.S.T.,to say that he is
definitely okay! This is just 24 hours after he was to sing and pray with
President Saddam Hussein.
At the appointed time he was to sing prayers for President Hussein, (12
noon E.S.T.) Hussein pre-empted the television stations in Iraq to broadcast a
news special of the peace concert that Jimmy had given the night before in
Baghdad. This concert had been recorded.
Even though Jimmy has not yet met with Saddam Hussein as of 12 Noon E.S.T.
yesterday, he is not discouraged in any way. This meeting may still take
place. The fact that security was so tight was cause to cancel last minute
plans.
Jimmy states that the Iraqi people are really impressed that we could
organize a time, all over the world, to pray for peace.
Jimmy is also saying that the news cameras are in his face everywhere he
goes. He is wondering, "So where are the rest of the media?" Since very little
of this has reached us back here in the US. was cause for the question.
Yesterday, the Channel Four Television News in the UK and the BBC World
Service Radio, broadcast news of this event.
When asked what message he wanted people around the world to know, Jimmy
responded, "What a difference it had to have made having millions of people
meditating at the same time. This had got to have made a difference."
The fact that a high government official called and told Jimmy that Saddam
Hussein had stopped everything, prayed and meditated with the rest of the
world during this broadcast concert yesterday, is possibly a sign to all of
us that we can indeed make a difference.
Tomorrow Jimmy will perform a concert for a children's hospital at 2 PM
Baghdad time. Following this concert he will return to London and then on to
Ireland to continue his tour.
James Twyman is not giving up hope that he will meet with President Hussein
before he leaves Iraq. As of this writing, no meeting has been planned.

THIS JUST IN FROM ISRAEL
Saturday, February 21, 1998
(I just receive this letter from Elias Jabbour who is the director of the
"House Of Hope," a peace & reconcilliation center in Galilee, about six miles
from Nazareth. Elias has been actively involved for many years in bringing
Jews and Arabs together as individuals, both to honestly discuss their
differences - and to find common ground in their mutual desires for justice,
security, peace and prosperity. Elias - and many others like him in Israel and
throughout the world, are the true unsung heros of our time - people you will
never hear about in the conventional press. Michael )

Dear Michael,
Sorry for not writing earlier! I hope you forgive me for that. I was
reading all your E-Mail and needless to tell you that I was sharing with you
and deep in my heart all the stuff you have sent. The situation here is
unbearable! All this insanity is more than any one could put up with. A
hysteria of war! You can smell up in air the lust of revenge, blood thirst, in
addition to human arrogance and the drunkness of power which is inhuman. How
much we need love on this earth!! more than any one could imagine! It looks
like that only prayers can prevent in the last moment the craziness of a
futile military confrontation!
Dark and evil principalities are trying to take over the minds of many
political world leaders! Our prayers can drive them away. A constant and
strong peaceful action must take place to contradict the military action. How
futile wars are! As an Israeli Palestinian Christian Arab who lived all his
life in this beautiful Holy Land, the Land of peace and no peace, I have
witnessed 9 wars: 1936, 1939, 1948, 1956, 1967, 1973, 1982, 1987, 1991!! O
Lord how many wars do I need to witness! Do I need to witness the 10th war of
1998 of bombing Iraq!! It is high time to put an end to this cycle of
insanity!
Michael I am confident of your love and sympathy with all of us who live
here caught in the middle of this terrible conflict in the Middle East. I do
agree that we need a Holy War but of another kind!! A Holy War of Peace and
Love!! Let's launch it now! Arabs and Jews, as well as all nations need to
LOVE EACH OTHER INSTEAD OF THIS HATRED THAT EATS THEM FROM THE INSIDE!
I have lot more to say, but living this nightmare of wars and rumors of war
makes words look dwarfish in front of the light shining from the many
beautiful human faces all over the world chanting "Peace on earth and joy in
the hearts of people". It looks closer today than it was at any other time. I
would like to assure you that in spite of all this gloomy situation I am still
very hopeful, because with strong and deep faith in the goodness of all human
beings and with unshakable hope that this goodness is going to prevail in the
end. If there is a way kindly convey this message to all our sisters and
brothers. I highly appreciate their prayers in these difficult days. Please
let me know when you come on the 28th, I will be very glad as always to meet
again we have a lot to talk about. Until then please keep us in your prayers.
Peace
Elias

Did you see Annan on TV last night. Wow! I was impressed with him. They
said people criticize him for being to calm and unemotional. He said he
is quiet and focused and that is how he works. And the people around him
compared him to a Yogi because they said nothing ruffels him. They think
they may have it solved peacefully, the US has to look at it which they
will do today. He has only been in a position of power for like 5 years
and worked his way up from being a clerk. When Mike Wallace went over to
Iraq with him, he said he didn't look one bit concerned, slept a lot and
just said we will see how it goes. So, do learn more about him I think
we may have a being with consciousness heading up the UN. He is
beautiful. GG

i'm back...
spent a week on a rainy mountain trying to convince myself of reality.
saturday evening, to commenorate Buddha Shakyumuni's enlightenment, we
practised up through the third watch of the nite.
i caught the sangha cold that was going around and my teacher had me
drop out of active practise and just lay quietly in the back of the
temple. My friend's voices chanting surrounded me as i listened to them.
past/present/future collapsed into the pure sound and stillpoint. the
silent voice becomes very loud and clear :).
leaving the temple afterward the moonlight and stars and air and temple
and people and the totality of *now* moved like it always does but this
time made me cry but i was not sad or happy or any such thing.
at first i was wondering why i got so sick on this retreat. i'm hardly
ever ill, and to get so sick i found a harrowing experience. but now i can
see that that is what it took to get past my defenses. starting to rebound
now and there is really nothing but just this. correct function correct
situation ...

And Talking about Kundalini Music I´ll quote a Roger Waters´
"Can´t you see: It all makes perfect sense, expresed in dollars and
cents pound shillings and pence...
And the brokers on wall street said ´kid don´t make us laugh´lime is a
linear, memory is a stranger, history is for fools, man is a tool in the
hands of the great gos almight... And they gave him command of a nuclear
submarine, send him back in serach of the garden of Eden".
Roger Waters from the 1992 cd "Amused to Death".
Love to you all. Come on Let´s focus. Let´s all close our eyes, breathe
in and out and think about world peace while cleansing ourselves with
god´s wonderful air.

i dont grok 'god'.
ok i'm a buddhist and our views are a bit toward what i would call 'non
theist' more than atheist. there are devas in the samsara mandala, but
they too are caught in samsara.
there is a primordial awareness concept that makes more sense to me, but
the traditional idea of 'god' eludes me. what, i may ask, to those who
grok god, is this whole god idea?

Hi Debora,
It sounds like something broke loose and you had to eliminate it out of
your system, this is not unusual in working your spiritual process. How
are you doing with your detachment? Gloria

Loreena McKennit!!!
I have had "Mask and Mirror" and "Book of Secrets" for three weeks and now my
husband has "stolen" BoS from me...he's so *buzzed* by it that he can't get the
songs out of his head. Instant K-fire "high", listening to this one, for sure.
This woman is amazing...and the fact (I guess it's a fact) that she has creative
control over her own label, and so I would imagine the purity of her art shines
through.
The synthesis of Celtic and Indian and other styles is terrific...I'm wondering if
her first album, "The Elemental" <?> is as good...
Now all I gotta do is wedge that CD from my hubby's hot little hands...sigh...maybe
I can make him an offer he "can't" refuse...hmmn...

occurred, & anything else you feel like sharing. Want to compare/contrast men

Thanks everyone! (I'll keep poll open, though, to give a chance to those who

34 people have now answered poll.
Meditation: 30 yes 4 no
Chant: 12 yes, 15 no,
Chant OR Prayer 7
Prayer 18 yes , 9 no
Chant OR prayer 7
Hatha Yoga: 15 yes-- One after K, one in the past, 16 no
Other (Tai chi, Martial arts) 4
NDE's 9
OBE's 17

Shaktipat: 10 yes, 6 qualified, 14 no
Because meditation is so strongly indicated, I wonder what form of meditating
we do?
Do you want to do a mini poll on the question?
1. What form of meditation do you practice?
2. Is unusual breathing (deep, shallow etc.)a part of your meditation
practice?
3. Does your tongue ever cling tightly to your upper palatte during practice?
4. Other questions??
I promise to retire from polling after this! REally!

The surgery's in March, will let you folks know just before Igo in. DO
appreciate your good thoughts.
Since a victim's assistance fund came thru w/money for the surgery, based on
my decision to go w/this particular surgeon who wants to do gen'l anesthesia,
I've decided to just trust that the right thing will happen...& I am also
sending loving thoughts to this highly respected surgeon . My preference IS
for having a local anesthetic, but the fund paid the surgeon directly, &
refuses to ask for it back to get another dr. So, I'm just not gonna worry!

Michele,
I just underwent general anesthesia for some surgery, and it was
absolutely great. The last thing I remember is the anesthesiologist
joking with me that they could keep me awake, but then I'd have to
listen to all of the doc's jokes. The next thing I knew, I was awake
with nurses around me, no pain, no nausea, just a little spaced
evidently.. as one nurse chuckled and asked me if I realized that I
had just asked her the same question for the 8th time. :-)
That spaciness passed within minutes, and that was that.
These folks really know their stuff nowadays, and I would undergo
general again without a second thought.
Don't worry.
Love,
Bob

GG here:
I remember a surgery I had where I watched the whole thing from the
ceiling, it was great. They were talking about motorcycles and all of
this stuff. I wanted to tell them what they were doing when I woke up
but then I thought I might scar them so it passed. But, you are out of
your body why not be aware and use the opportunity. I am just one that
is always looking about. Most don't want to know what is going on, but
it is possible even then.

Hehehehehe, science fiction fan word. i assume sometimes everyone has
read "stranger in a strange land" by Robert Heinlein.
'grok' is what the man from mars called direct experience of a phenom.
total direct exprience of a phenom.
