Dear people in this mailing-list,

I subscribed in the web side of kundalini here in this address but want to
confirm that you receive my message so I repeat it again here in telnet.

I am a 25 year-old, mail Turkish graduate student. Before I write about my
experience, I wanted to investigate about kundalini. The web site was a
good reference for it and I am also looking forward to your mails for
information, advice etc...

Thank you

>Iri Wrote: "Axis Ethopia where there are something like 900 places of

Dear Iri,

I'm intrigued by your email regarding the various archeological sites you
feel compelled to visit. I am particularly interested in why "Axis Ethiopia has
some 900 places of worship, all having the Ark of the Covenant as their main
feature." Did the ancient Ethiopians originate the idea of an Ark of the
Covenant, or did they import it from another place?

Then there is the question as to what, precisely, does the Ark of the
Covenant represent?

In the current (February) issue of "Vanity Fair," there is a lengthy
article about two men who managed to get into Saudi Arabia and then
went looking for the mountain that they and others believe was the Mountain
on which God first spoke face to face with Moses and handed down the
Tables of the Law. According to them, Mt. Sinai is in fact a mountain
called Jabal al Lawz, "the holiest site on earth," in the ancient land of
Midian.

The two men, Ron Wyatt and Dave Fasold, have written a book, entitled
"The Gold of Exodus," just published by Simon &Schuster. They believe
that tons of gold was left at the foot of Jabal al Lawz (Mt. Sinai) by
the Children of Israel.

Dave Fasold had been on an expedition in 1986 searching in Turkey for
Noah's Ark.

So here we have three Biblical Mysteries--Noah's Ark, The Ark of
the Covenant; and Mt. Sinai, when the Ten Commandments were handed down
to Moses.

The awakening of Kundalini brings heightened intuition or a powerful
intuition. Can the combined intuitive power of the K-List solve any or
all of the above Mysteries???

Good intuiting,

A PRAYER TO THE LORD

Help me, O Lord, unto the last
To speak the truth and do the right,
To heed the lessons of the past
And keep the future well in sight.

I have no answer why and how
I find myself upon this scene,
With earth below and sky above,
And what does our existence mean.

Neither the Wisdom of the Wise
Nor all the books I can recall
Could help me know or e'en surmise
What Power is behind us all.

Help me, O Lord, to think aright,
And make my life a Flame of Love
To shed its luster, pure and bright,
In acts of service done above

The thought of self, of fame or gain,
Out of sheer love for humankind,
For soothing grief or healing pain,
Or bringing comfort to the mind.

Few are the years allowed to us
To rise above our Me and Mine,
To think of self a little less
And a bit more of Thee and Thine.

A world in which each one of us
Exists but for oneself alone,
Must end in sorrow and distress,
Selfish and callous to the bone.

The Aim should be to make our life
A Fount of happiness for All,
To keep aloof from lowly strife
And rise in action straight and tall.

It is not wise to act in haste
When we know little of our self,
We may then barter gems for paste
And sell our Soul for sorry pelf.

Help me, O Lord, to spend my days
In thought and action, true to Thee,
And let me, like sun's orient rays,
On every side Thy Glory see.

Then only my bound Soul can rise
Beyond its chains of mortal flesh,
And win again the Sovereign Prize
Of Life Eternal, young and fresh.

Well, the first one - Noah's Ark - may already be solved, according to
Popular Science (or was it Popular Mechanics?) magazine. They had a
special issue, "Bible Mysteries Solved", which discussed the discovery
of a ship-shaped object patially buried in a mountain ridge near Ararat.
I saw the video put out by the guy who found it and did extensive
research on it - very convincing. He convinced the Turkish government
sufficiently for them to declare the area as a "Noah's Ark National
Park."

As to solving the other two - hey, who knows until you try?

Peswani..You appear to be wanting some stamp of approval or validation
from Harsha, in particular, perhaps others on the list?? Please look at
what this may be about for you. BTW, if you were offended by our

good meditation..is spirituality a competitive sport?? Are you winning??
Frankly,in your last few posts, you sound kinda angry and frustrated..
are we disappointing you?? What would you like the list to do?? What
reaction are you wanting?? (so, I lied..it was more than one
question..but it boils down to "what do you want?"

Mudra (moo-dra) is a Sanskrit term meaning gesture. Mudra can also mean asana (posture), a seal or an instrument of sealing. This is the primary meaning for our use, "a gesture that seals an effect." In Universal Yoga, we use numerous mudras but have 4 primary mudras. These 4 mudras have specific effects according to yogic philosophy. They are: Jupiter mudra, Saturn mudra, Sun mudra, and Mercury mudra.     Jupiter mudra is the most frequently used hand position. It involves placing the index finger and thumb tip of each hand together. Jupiter mudra helps to stimulate the electromagnetic field to receive and tap into the inner source of wisdom and knowledge. The index finger is strongly associated with the air element, and the thumb is associated with ether. This air/ether combination helps to lighten one up and aid in tuning into the subtleties of life. The thumb is believed to stimulate the brain and the index finger, the lungs. It should be used anytime when relaxing between yoga asanas or while performing basic meditation.   Saturn mudra is the second most frequently used hand position. It involves placing the middle finger and thumb together. This mudra is excellent for working on the emotions or working to control the emotions.  For years I have observed that even a new student who has never done yoga will use this mudra if emotions are starting to come up. Once again the elements ether and fire are combined, and are good for the intestines, according to ancient ayurveda texts.   Sun mudra is very important for our society. It is the thumb and ring finger touching. The sun represents vitality, illumination and Divine knowledge. This mudra is excellent for the nervous system and general vitality, according to yoga philosophy. It combines waster and ether. It also stimulates the kidneys. Mercury mudra is the most difficult to do of the four. It involves the thumb and pinky touching. (See drawing next column.) This helps to stimulate the heart and communication. Communication from the heart is a very powerful tool. This mudra is also called Buddhi by some yoga systems. It is thought to be very stimulating to the brain.— end Tapas   The third great vow in the niyama limb of Raja yoga is tapas, which can be translated as a psychic heat. In many systems, tapas is also known as austerity. Sutra 43, In the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, Book II, is translated as: 'By austerity, impurities of body and senses are destroyed and occult powers gained."   According to Sri Swami Satchidananda, the definition of tapas (austerity in the above translation), is "to burn or create heat." Tapas can be easily misunderstood and it is important to understand that in this situation, tapas does not mean penances or forms of self torture. Indeed, in the Bhagavad Gita, (chapter seventeen), it is stated that: "Those who practice severe austerities not enjoined by the scriptures; who are given to hypocrisy and egoism impelled by the forces of lust and attachment; who are senseless; who torture all the elements in the body and Me also who dwells in the body; know these to be of demoniacal resolves.". The "demoniacal resolve" would be the torturing of the Self. Sri Swami Satchidananda clearly and succinctly states in his explanation of tapas, "Self-discipline is an aid to spiritual progress, self-torture is an obstacle." Also, according to Hari Nam, founder of Universal Yoga, an interesting side note to the translation of the sutra is that the term occult often meant "secret". We often associate the term "occult" in our present terminology as practices with a more negative side. In this translation, it is assumed that the secret powers are those of the yogi and yogini who, with the proper practice and discipline of yoga, obtain the results outlined in the Sutras of Patanjali.   There are many ways to practice tapas. In the physical practice of yoga, tapas can sometimes be experienced as a heat in different parts of the body, often in the spinal area. By observing mental tapas, we are able to burn away the old impressions or samskara¹s that are often the backbone for the way we live our lives. Sometimes this process can be quite painful and difficult as we let go of our old habits and accept the pain inflicted upon us by others. The mental impressions are purified when we accept all that comes our way, whether painful or pleasurable. The self-discipline of accepting pain without wanting to cause pain to others is a way of ³burning² out the impurities and causing the mind to be strong and steady. Accepting but not causing pain is a direct and very powerful cornerstone of spiritual life. Verbal tapas can be observed by the practice of silence. Silence can become a way of purifying and strengthening the process of speech.     Evidence of the purifying fire can be found throughout the historical and biblical literature of western society as well as in the eastern references . According to Karen Armstrong in A History of God, the biblical old testament prophet Jeremiah "experienced God as a pain that convulsed his limbs, broke his heart and made him stagger about like a drunk". Jeremiah himself writes in the bible (Jeremiah, 23:9): ³...Then there seemed to be a fire burning in my heart, imprisoned in my bones. The effort to restrain it wearied me, I could not bear it."   Jeremiah¹s physical experience of the pain and the feeling of fire deep in his bones is similar to those who have had a mystical or kundalini experience without the physical preparation which the practice of yoga and study with a spiritual teacher provides.     The brilliant Blaise Pascal (1623-62), mathematician, theologian and inventor (calculating machine, barometer, hydraulic press), had an essentially mystical experience on the night of November 23, 1654. Despite his continuing profound pessimism about the inherent state of the human condition, Pascal felt the experience, which lasted about two and half hours, changed his life by showing him that his faith was too remote and academic. He entitled this revelation "Fire" and stitched into his doublet where it was discovered upon his death.   One of the finest examples of fire igniting the creative soul is from the Noble Prize winning poet and Chilean diplomat Pablo Neruda (1904-1973). In his poem "Poetry", Neruda¹s experience with the creative force, whether metaphorical or realistic, shadows the spiritual and mystical experiences of many of the sages and philosophers of the ages. When Neruda reaches inside of himself and "deciphers" the fire that has summoned him, he begins to write the poetry that became both the expression of his own soul, his own "infinitesimal being" and also the expression of a troubled country, it¹s people suffering under dictatorship and war. As he begins to write the poetry, "the first faint lines, faint without substance, pure nonsense, pure wisdom, of someone who knows nothing". Neruda begins a journey into the cosmos where the heavens are "unfastened" before him and he feels that he becomes one with the universe, "a pure part of the abyss". Neruda¹s feeling of oneness and his dance of joy, "I wheeled with the stars", is mirrored again and again in the writings and memoirs of sages and leaders who have passed through the many trials and fires of the spiritual path.   In the natural world, tapas is the common way of clearing out and making room. When nature ignites a forest fire, the dead wood is cleared from the forest to make room for the new growth. It takes the intense heat of fire to crack open the pine cones and seeds from which many of the mightiest trees grow. For our own spiritual growth, we must also continue to ³turn up the heat² by accepting and learning to enjoy the purification process in a positive way. By applying the physical, mental and verbal aspects of tapas to our daily lives, we can clear out the dead wood of our old habits and thoughts, opening ourselves to the joy and peace of neutrality and becoming aware that we too have already begun our own infinitesimal journey into the cosmos.   References: Yoga Sutra Translations taken from the: "Sutra¹s of Patanjali" Translation and Commentary By Sri Swami Satchidananda. Good Morning List.
I have had a tough week, beginning Saturday morning, a few UP's and some
really incredible dreams and strange happenings, followed by nasty
"judgements" of people, world, myself, and even God got a lashing this
week [it's okay, dialog is good!]
Last evening I finally decided to face IT head on, obviously Something
was going on and IT was either gonna get delt with or it was gonna just
keep kicking me around [to which I was responding by kicking back at
everything around me]. So I removed myself, again, from the family, for
the 3rd time this week!, only this time I got quiet and listened.
Nasty critter judgement! Always, it comes back to something within
myself. Looked at it all night long.

When I walked outside today I saw the most amazing rainbow I have ever
seen!
The sky was dark grey and heavy at the front of the house,
behind the house the morning sun had found a hole in the clouds
it shone a bright silver sunbeam over the roof of the house,
I could see individual slivers of beams, billions maybe -
like threads tightly strug across the sky,
over my home and into the gray mass in front of me,
creating two full double rainbows,
clear as a bell each and every color,
the purple and pinks standing out like neon against the dark clouds.
The outermost rainbow bowed at 12:o'clock high
the inside rainbow sat at about 9:o'clock -
the clouds within the smaller rainbow took on a pastel glow!
I stood in awe. and cried.

I had really hit some nasty spots in my ponderings of the night and had
resoved to work on them.
I was feeling resolved, but uneasy as well.
I am excited now, anxious for the work!

For many years I have used the rainbow of a symbol of love,
when I see a rainbow I remind myself I am loved
and I send love "out" to the world at the same time.
Freda REALLY needed that rainbow this morning -
and what a gift of love it was!

Have a beautiful day,

-- sending rainbows------

Yes sir, the one and the same Ashanka (though some persons on the
list may tell me that I have changed as change is eternal ... ;-)=

The trip to India was nice and am back at Milan with my wife, who is
a teacher of Yaga-asanas. So we have a large infinite common ground
to discuss and mutually grow.

If you could give me the web site of your articles I would certainly be
helped.

THE SONG OF HARSHA (ALSO KNOWN AS THE SONG OF MY HEART)
     LET THIS FEELING NEVER PART!

The sacred stream of love divine
sweeter than the sweetest wine
flowing into this vast sunshine
springs eternal from my heart.
I pray no one should be left out
from life's blessings in their glory
and give way to tortured doubt
with unhappy endings to their story.
Never should they be turned away
who are suffering from the blows of life
the poor, the wretched of this world
caught helplessly in endless strife.
If ever anyone should be in need
of some comfort or help in getting up
let me not run away from them
but plant kindness as my living seed.
Let me give hope where there is despair
and mend hearts considered beyond repair
like the gentle ocean breeze that
heals all wounds and gives a fresh start
Let this feeling never part!

I should always find delight
in the warmth of universal light
but if my heart must bleed at all
let it be so in the dark of night.
No one should see the tears that come
when the wicked and cruel come in my sight
let this hand forever be raised in peace
and the violence around us come to cease.
Know that wrongs inflicted on one's brother
always come back to haunt the one,
who created the pain for the imagined other,
even mental arrows quickly find their mother.
But always this thought should be kept alive
that every sinner is a future saint
there should be a place for everyone
to swim in the pouring love divine
that flows eternal from my heart
Let this feeling never part!

Unaware, if someone is unkind
let forgiveness be on my mind
until no trace is left behind
of ill will, anger or hostility.
If I should ever slip and fall
and no one to catch me is around
let me come down gently like a leaf
so other life is unhurt on the ground.
If I have to lay for some time
contented should be my smile
composing songs of love and friendship
and resting all the while.
I will be picked up by love divine
which springs eternal in my heart
for all the beings everywhere
Let this feeling never part!

Sages have sung the song of friendship
walking with them and in their shoes
the same melody now plays on my lips
the feeling of reverence for life continues.
Involuntary poets, there have been many
who felt the thrill and saw the sign
whose hearts sang out in ecstasy
as their fountain bubbled with love divine.
The blessings of nature are bestowed
on those who are firm in their belief
who are harmless to others and easily bow
before anyone, seeing only divinity.
If I should be granted just one thing
let it be the vision of love
always rising from the spring
sacred and eternal in my heart
Let this feeling never part!

My boyfriend experiences these spine chills and sometimes goes into
really intense spasms of his body, arms and legs flailing about:) All
the time he has this wide grin on his face. It's a surge of energy
sometimes he gets it when he's doing a healing for another person and
wants to bring in a surge to help the one he's working on.
He also receives these atomic balsts:) from spirit if he is in any
physical pain and receives his own healing in this way.
He says it's like having a spontaneous internal orgasm... of the Tantric
type.
Instant connection with spirit.

So you can use and enjoy these surges for yourself and you can also
transfer them to others through your heart chakra and hands for healing
purposes:)

We always smile and say it's just God/spirit saying Hello :)

take care in your travels

Hillary have you ever checked out Tantra?

There is a real connection here and it can add so much to your life. I
won't go into it too much here.. but take a look on the web. Just a
warning that some of the info can be a little 'trashy' but if you look
hard enough you'll find the ancient info that's well worth the studying.

I had my first Tantric experience while doing a meditation that was
going around a few years ago. The Sacred Purple Flame? if anyone
remembers of St. Jermaine I think. You can still find it on www spirit.
What an awesome experience it's added so much to my life and spiritual
existence.

take care
