Be sure and *smile* when ya say "WE" there, hombre!

If "we" were independently wealthy (spiritually as well as materially), we
damn sure would spend a lot more time at "home", studying the universe and
exploring inner space. It is always the "work" that calls us away. It is
not an adventure, it is a drudgery.

It is undignified for a committed spiritual seeker to be so lacking in
compassion. Have a little less smugness.

"Some people" have an even bigger appetite for pointing out the
shadows of others.

Sounds like an archaic form of birth control, what was that... "oneness

It must be pure magic at your house.
>Metaphysical drama junkie deep sea pearl divers!
>That's what we are!
Speaking for myself, if I were a drama junkie I would bore myself. It all
becomes so tedious and predictable. I prefer stories I do not yet know the
ending to.
The next time you want to insult someone at least have the courage to be
direct about it. (Perhaps you could get some pointers from the Lobster....)

My bliss helps me to feel that I am on the right path, that I am in tune with
my destiny, that I am being the real me. When I am not in my bliss (99% of
the time), I know I am wearing the usual masks I must wear in order to
function in the world.
You are correct in saying that the above does not *directly* do that much
for other people... But I have had professors that have taken me aside to
tell me what a joy I am to have in their classroom. Because they can tell
that I am listening! They are there to teach and I am there to learn. I
help them fulfill their purpose.
And I am a better companion to my husband when I am happy. He sees me glow
and says "You must have had a good day." Seeing me happy adds to his
happiness.

If you can find joy in vacuuming you are much more spiritually advanced
than I am. I have not yet learned to transcend boredom. I only know how to
avoid activities that bring it on. Like vacuumming!
If your daily practice helps you to be centered and to transcend boredom,
I'd say you are doing something right! Not to worry.

seconding that thought. I've noticed a few posts referring to "Tantra".
i'm not sure where folks are getting data from, but from what i know, its
secret, powerful, and not always sexual.
We should take care with it, and not reveal things that people have not
had prelims for etc. There are lots of things that require initiation and
are NOT for the curious. They also require a skilled guru and lots of love
and willingness to evolve.
i'm also a tad sensitive right now. So please forgive if i've reacted too
strongly. Brain reacting to a slight overacting heart center again :).

ah! sounds nice :). Joy is a sign of a developing spirit as i have heard.
by 'bliss' i meant the um--what i call explosions of great joy/bliss/light
that happen in meditation sometimes. Sustained joy is another thing
altogether. it can be taken off the cushion and yes--it is a wonderful
help.
'mudita' or sympathetic joy is one of the 4 boundless states. To take joy
in another's joy sort of thing. Wishing i could do it more often :). I'm a
bit too self-centered most of the time tho. But if one is rooted in ones
own joy, as seperate from 'pleasure', the world is --well, wonderful!
> If you can find joy in vacuuming you are much more spiritually advanced

You have me laughing. This is wonderful! i'm not advanced anything. I just
used to hate housework so much i sorta decided that i did not have to do
that as much. I work at an office 40 hrs a week. Vacuuming is mindless
enough i can make a meditation of it if i'm in the right mode and you'd be
surprised how quickly it gets done. Ever try to just really VACUUM?
Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh in 'peace is every step' gives a similar
approach to doing dishes. I have a dishwasher, and vacuuming is more of a
'chore' than dishes.
anyway,
enough rambling :)
take care, light & lovejoy :)

Results me incredible (though a little funny) the mixture of the year of
aquarium, the chakras, pyramids Egyptians, Cristo, Buddha, meditation,
the World Wide Medidation, the Arcangel Gabriel...
I think that the interior discovery should not be transformed into a
series of words that lose the sense. In the interior search is essential
the sincerity.
A good news: for meditation is not necessary to travel to the Tibet, or
to Machu Pichu, or to Disney!!!
Either it is necessary that they happen flying on our heads condors or
hens, rain in vertical form or in horizontal form.
I think that the interior road must be united to the simplicity, to the
truth, far from the hysterics.
Actually I wait that nobody is offended with my thought ...
Thanks by sharing ideas.

This is much more meaningful to me. I don't want to feel as if I have
"bought" something I should earn through my sweat. I am also skeptical
about "initiations." Reminds me of the slumber party where they put my bra
in the freezer, sprayed shaving cream on my glasses, and died my hair black

You could be right about the most important reason (from genderless God)
that you took those classes! I met my husband because my car died. He was
the only neighbor willing to give me a ride to work. So actually two
somewhat unpleasant things, work and a broken car, led to the best
relationship of my life. This lady could be "the one." Wouldn't that be
brilliant?

The thing about vacuuming is you can see the results AND the floor doesn't
complain about your actions on its behalf...

Hello everyone,
I am new to this mailing list and am very excited I found it. Just
curious, about how many people are on this list?
I have a couple of beginner K questions. Is there a particular physical
discipline that enhances the flow of K? Of course I have tried various
yogas, but only a few and without much success. Presently, when I feel
that swelling of the energy I just physically exert myself (running or
other excercises) until I'm exhausted. If nothing else I'm getting my
excercise, but I am sure there is a better way to properly direct or
release this energy.
My other question is; Are O.B.E.'s a result of K? Or is it the other way
around?
Thanks, Aman
Life is an illusion, but an illusion we must take seriously

Hi everybody.
I just subscribed today and have only had time to glance at what people are
saying. It seems to me that I ought to introduce myself, though.
My name is Blythe. I live out in the Coast Range of Oregon. My spiritual
practice is eclectic, and has been with me as long as I can remember. I change
and grow. My practice changes and grows. I do what works for me.
My daughter tells her friends that her parents are pagan Quaker shamanic
witches. That's the short form.
I laid down intense spiritual work about twenty years ago while I learned to
be a healthier adult woman, able to be in relationship and commit to rearing
kids. It's been as hard as, and more rewarding than, anything I'd tried up til
that point.
When the twins became teenagers recently, I woke up one morning knowing it was
time to get on with it.
Since then, with a mixture of Quakerly silent listening to the Beloved, some
down and dirty ritual magic, Bikram yoga, praiseful awareness, body work and a
touch of this and that, I've been moving closer to where I'm going.
While I've been spending steadily more time in an obnoxiously happy state, it
was only quite recently that I had my first serious kundalini bounce. It's
hard to talk about. I was visiting people in a strange town. One of them tried
to help me ground when it started to happen. It didn't stop the shaking or
energy flow. I was up all night trying to sort out what was me, what was God,
what energy swirls were people in the apartment I was in or other apartments
or parking lot, and what was now, what was then, what was not yet. It was
scary, disorienting, and frustrating because I couldn't find any words or
concepts to wrap what I was seeing in. Come dawn, I walked til I found a park
with a stream through it, and pulled the water elementals through me until
only I was left inside.
Then I walked back to the apartment. One of the friends I was visiting gave me
words and kept talking and quoting people. He said some things that spoke to
my condition. For example, he told me that the gift of seeing was mine, but I
didn't own what I saw about people's paths, had to remember that what each
person chose to do was right for them at that time. Later he taught my husband
to balance my chakras. That really helped eliminate the internal shaking.
When we got home that night to kids and dogs and farm, I called the librarian
over a couple of valleys. She scanned me over the phone and helped me see a
few bits of others' lives still snagged on me. I removed them.
By the next morning I was back to obnoxiously happy, laughing at the beauty of
the dew spangled spiderwebs on the pasture fence.
At this point-two days later- I have only a deep understanding/clear sight of
my loved ones, and no memory of all their pasts and futures. There remains an
awed in-loveness at the courage and beauty and stubborness and dearness of
each of us{DID I see everyone in western Oregon?} as we journey from the
Unmanifest back home to the Unmanifest, the love we come from and the love we
return to and are sustained by throughout.
Guess my vision isn't quite back to normal. When I killed a spider in the back
bathroom just now, I saw a spark of gold light fly away.
After this first bounce, and I likely to have more soon? Will they be similar?
Huh! It was only half a year ago that I let go of intending to work at raising
my kundalini, in favor of clearing out the dust bunnies in myself. I guess it
just goes to show that if you don't want something, it's best to keep trying
to grab it.
Goodnight all.
Blythe
