Hello David,
Each time I read about someone finding out about kundalini, a tear comes
to my eye. Life is so beautiful, and it's awakening from everywhere.
As for advise, listen to your inner voice, what can I tell more...
In Love

Hello Shanti,
If I guess right, from the feeling I get from reading "between" the
lines, most of your life you wanted to reach "out" of your body. Now
that you have opened new pathways to reach the light from your skin, and
"feel" the other side. As you will start to identify more and more with
the "other" side, and your ego fades away, you will have to learn the
habit of not forgetting your body, to focus on it instead of focusing on
the other side, because you will Be the "other" side. Some call it
"grounding", a lot off techniques for that exist.
As for the back of your neck a passage is not yet open for all this
energy to pass in your spine (or passage around your spine) to reach the
crown from the earth. When it will open it will be easier to stay one.
This pressure could be also a conflict from your ego wanting to stay in
the state you are and the state you need to have to study. Technology is
doing wonders, these times, they are on the market sound waves CD that
gently guide brain wave activity into a frequency that can help you to
put yourself in a learning state. I don't like to refer such tapes for
meditations and exploration of the unknown, because in some way they
limit us to specific states (work only on brain wave and whe have to
follow the evolution of the CD, not are own) and it's less easy to
explore the state in between, or, for example, to focus more on the
effect off the solar winds on us instead of the ones off the CD'S. But
when I need to be grounded in a specific way, as to learn something of
conceptual nature, this CD as proven effective: "Deep Learning", by
Kelly Howell (800) 444-SYNC. after a couple of week you don't need the
CD anymore to change state at will.
"If we think we have reached the State of Mind, it's not, yet, the good
State."

How I heard about Kundalini.
I was raised in a Pentecostal family. In my youth I felt that I had
experienced the Pentecostal/Charismatic experience. Later, I left the
church to begin my "spiritual search". I still think that experience
was real, but have come to believe that the Pentecostals did not
understand what they were experiencing..
My sister reciently told me about a Pentecostal revival in Brownsville
Assy, Pensaola, Fl. I searched the web. This is their site.
Brownsville Assembly of God
http://www.brownsville-revival.org/revival.html
Found another site which said Pentecostalism and Kundalini were the same
thing. Searched this new word, "Kundalini" and am now on this e-mail
listing. Enjoy it. That site is:
COMPARING KUNDALINI YOGA AND TORONTO BLESSING / BROWNSVILLE
http://www.balaams-ass.com/journal/warnings/charhind.htm#COMPARING
Other sites say this also (search: Pentecostal and Kundalini) What do
you think? Gordon

Thank you everybody for your comments, and a special thank you to Melissa
for her sharing. I shall have to re-read her post several times. You have
a remarkable story --- and I am reminded of the Queen's recent statement in
regards to something else when she said, "...There is something here to be
learned by all..." (my humble paraphrase.)
I am VERY appreciative of all of you you have jumped into this discussion
to help put words into my mouth. I did not have terribly many active
neurons pre-kundalini awakening, and I assure you that I have NO more in
the aftermath. :)
However, due to the constant INCESSANT inner silence ---- kind of a "loud"
glaring cathedral-like SILENCE, I frankly frequently feel intense
difficulty in expressing myself. It is NOT because of the kundalini, mind
you --- but somehow somehow my already-ther difficulty with articulating my
thoughts "feels" worse.
So I thank everyone for helping me out by contributing their ideas, too --
many of which I could say, "Me, too."
Peace.

Dear Linda,

Ego and consciousness are nearly synonymous.
Ego propells us through life.
Ego is the manifestation of Spirit within each of us.
And yet, we consider egocentricity to be a spiritual block.

Ah, the good and bad discussion, this one is always tricky isn't it?
Because it is automatic to think and form an opinion. What happens when
we are in spiritual training inside we begin to see the bigger picture
and in so doing we recognize how illusion is working on both sides.
That is not to say that rape is right, we all know that it is not.
However, in observing and drawing on the other persons experience with
the knowledge that there is really no such thing as the victim...in the
pure sense... then we bring in the karmic understanding to adjust the
thought form that is automatically beginning. Again, this is the
interior process, however, when we speak about it to others, it just
doesn't come out the way intended because the observation doesn't come
through with the whole process.
I remember years ago this conversation came up at a meeting I was
attending, someone asked me about a difficult situation that could have
been similiar. I started off by saying that everything has purpose and
it isn't always the way it appears. And while on the human level we all
know it is wrong, without question, in order not to get caught up in the
illusion it is best to leave it without judgement.
Then I said with human emotions and feelings that is difficult, but
when I look at the hands of time, the illusion itself, then I know that
life corrects itself in the big picture. No one ever gets away with
anything. The day you are out of the body and do the life review, you
see for yourself the thought, emotion, and act and you experience the
other persons view and experience in total. The lesson then has purpose
and the stage for that persons next experience has begun, if we don't
take that into consideration then we end up trying to understand
something that just doesn't have an explanation until you follow it to
the end.
Now, did I hit the topic or totally miss it???Gloria

HI, Some story, you may be surprised how you effect some of those people
as time goes on. Your son and you offer quite and example of
'overcoming' in a way that is so very important. You choose not to allow
it to ruin your life and that will effect people more then you know. God
Bless both of you. Gloria

Hello Melissa,
I admire your courage, it's a great inspiration for me. Thank you for
sharing your story....
You said all know that the village did not grow from your experience. I
don't think it's true, they did grow from it, but it takes them more
time. It's like the first black (to take an example) man that comes to
live in a small village. Being the first, and different, mostly they
will resist to is staying, but with time, as they get to know him, the
mind of some villager at least will start to open to him being there. If
the black man is open, he will grow faster, being different, from is
experience, and is surroundings will grow a little bit faster from
living with "something" exotic.

Of course you are right! That's the point I was trying to make about good
and evil. It depends upon what level you are viewing it from. And yes, the
attachment you possess around the issue. What comes to mind is a saying
(from whom I do not remember) Nothing is good or bad unless my thoughts
make it so.
Thanks Antoine for your insight.

Hi, Nancy.
No, I was not being sarcastic.
In another post, I describe my difficulty articulating my thoughts ---
which, if I may be humorous (?) --- I no longer feel the tactile sensation
of mental chatter inside my cranium becaue there are no "thoughts" per se
in this unremitting SILENCE.
So, given the FACT (not self-putdown) that I did not have a disciplined
intellect to start with --- it does not surprise me that I do not have one,
post K-Awakening.
A psychologist recently wrote a post to me --- perhaps if you can imagine
that I am 100% kinesthetic --- you'll appreciate my difficulties with the
written word.
How about I promise to put in parentheses in future posts when I AM being
sarcastic -- so that everyone will know? (In my verbal expression a large
part of my humour-expression is based upon sarcastic witticisms.)
My favorite such sarcastic witticism of late is this:
BEFORE ENLIGHTENMENT............Wash dishes
be neurotic
After Enlightenment: Wash dishes, be neurotic
Peace.

Hello Linda !
Here is easternn thought on the ego. I had to write first on my word
processor, because I am almost at the limit of my time this month with
my server.
So I make this an attachment.
Thanks for your question and please feel at liberty to throw questions
and I would endeavor to answer to the best of my understanding and
knowledge.
Ego in the Eastern Line of thought:
The pure consciousness lowers it's frequency to be active principle in the
sentient body and is
the mindstuff= Chittam in Sanskrit.
The mindstuff may be considered as the container of the of three aspects
which makes our
individual personality. The three aspects are Mind consciousness= Manah
Ego or ego consciousness= Ahamkara and the Discerning faculty= Buddhi.
These three together form our totality of our mind stuff or Chittam.
The chittam is the part of the whole yet not the whole. It has the ability
to gain experiences
from our childhood to the last minutes of our corporeal life.
The three aspects of this Chittam cooperate and enables the individual to
carry on efficient and
satisfying interactions with the external and internal environments. This
state is that of balance
between the three aspects.
When the three aspects are imbalanced and at odds with each other the
chittam becomes
deranged, maladjusted and consciousness becomes bewildered and confused.
Under these conditions of imbalance the people become dissatisfied with
their internal and
external environments. The purpose of the Yogic Practices is to maintain a
balance of these
three aspects of Manah, Buddhi and Ahamkara.
The Ahamkara - the ego with the small "e" is our ego consciousness,
operates in two directions,
to be creative or destructive according to the predominant Gunas of the
person.
So in the east , yes we do view the ego different from the western point of
view.
That is why I mentioned that "the ego probably shuts the door to
spirituality."
The determining or the discerning faculty allows the silent voice to let us
know the pros or cons
of any situation.
The manah on the other hand cannot, according to eastern view , cannot
separate the subjective
world of the mind from the objective world of physical reality. It needs
the ego to direct. The
ego in turn is presented by the pros and the cons by the budhhi -the
discerning faculty.
Hope this gives a birdseye view to the eastern concept of the mind and its
aspects.
In Love, Life and Light to all ,
Indra
