that came straight through,
once I switched to the opposite polarity of self pity.
The way that I did survive it, was to follow my nose,
as best I could, hiding in books and simply enduring.
Self hypnosis (and other research I came across..
most notably women's magazine horror story amnesia
articles about women who had suffered child abuse.
...taught me to literally file some events emotional content
into mental boxes timed to reopen and present themselves
for healing later, at an age where I felt I would have
the emotional understanding to resolve them.
Not the events themselves.
I didn't like the idea of total amnesia...
A control junkie, even while surrendering.
We are not ever completely without control...
Goddess gives us a window of free will in her plans for us.

EXACTLY. Our minds think in symbols and pictures, we are the ones that
need the words to express our inner most thoughts. The Reiki symbols are
a tool that triggers the intuitive pictures in the mind. The energy is
then easily channelled without a series of rituals and ceremonies.
Everything is so much more simple that we try to make it.

There is a book by Diane Stein that shows all the Reiki Symbols. She
says her guides told her to reveal them because without the attunement
and initiation the symbols do not work. However.. chuckle I have been
told and there is teaching I have learned that shows some of the symbols
she is using other than the first three have different value than she
realzes. One she shows as just a passing thought, is really a major

Being Native American myself, I have had the chance to speak to many elders
about how things, seemingly non-sequeter, got to where they are. There are many
ideas and stories about this, but the one thing that I was able to gleen from
these discussions, is that commerce and trade routes between North and South
America were much more extensive than archeologists are at this point given to
believe. One Creek elder tells a story about a place called "Pecan Ponit" near
the bottom of the state of Arkansas, where a great trading exchange was held
every year, with groups migrating from as far away as the Pacific northwest,
and Guatamala. Apparently , Pecans were revered by all, and were the focal
point of this trade event, and when one group, further west, tried to steal
this land from the Creek Confederacy there was a massive war in the area, that
piled bodies so high, that it stank for 20 years following. The mounds near
pecan point corroborate this archeologically, since many types of stone
implements, sea shells, and artworks and crafts, have been discovered in them,
which hale from almost a continent away. Thanks for your info though.
This ceremonial dagger is very special, and I use it to harvest special
healing herbs, at special astrological times. The handle is made of baked terra
cotta clay, and has two faces at the top of the hilt. Where the obsidian shaft
joins with the handle, is a ring of small turquois stones. Its really quite
striking.

P.S. Tell Karen, that" you never know where your going till you get there!", as
the song says. When my K- energy releases started, and all through the 2 years
I have had them, my husband has had vivid dreams, various aches and pains in
sympathy with mine, and shifts as well. When he asked our friend Geneivive
Paulson about it, she said that quite often K- energy release in one person,
will release it in their partner. She has been a great help to us.

Yes I have seen "Powder", and was very impressed. Wow , that's quite an
experience you are having. Sounds like you received the reiki initiation(s),
by surrogate means. One of my questions to you is ,have you had any change in
the sensations in your hands, any increase is heat, itchiness, or an almost
magnetic pull to ailing areas on your own body, or those of others?
Also, somewhere in the Alice Bailey works, at the moment, I'me not sure
where, there are some interesting statements about the nature of "Electrical
fire" and how fundamental it is to creation. If you are interested I'll look up
referrences for you.
Thirdly, the Lakota medicine people say that dreaming or being in synch
with the thunder beings, or lightning beings, is a sign of contrary nature
(Heyoka) consciousness. Their description of this sounds amazingly similar to
certain descriptions of Kundalini releases I have heard. My uncle was a Heyoka
medicine man - everyone was affraid of him because he was ruthlessly truthful,
and blasted a lot of egos. They never knew what to expect from him, especially
at social gatherings. They usually gave him a wide girth, except in cases where
real spiritual power and non-logical spiritual understanding were needed.He
shared his gifts with me before he died. I understand more about them now than
I did then. It seems each new day brings new understanding. Good luck with your

This is great! Just what I needed to hear! Doreen expressed some of my
feelings perfectly ... not speaking up and work difficulties. The self
exploration ideas given in Angelique's response invite me to inquire in
ways that I have not tried so far.
I really enjoy thoughts and insights given on the list. Just reading a few
in the morning helps me to stay calm and more spiritually minded
throughout the day.
I was practicing a new meditation this past weekend and the directions
stated for me to focus at my nose root. Does this mean I look
cross-eyed with my eyes closed?

You can bet you are not the only one. It is good to ask "stupid"
questions. Get all us folks back down to earth, sometimes. It is
easy to wax philosophical about k., but basic stuff like "my job
has gone to hell what can I do" are just as important, and often
need to get sorted to smooth the path.

I think you need to figure out what you have to give the world. Your
Best Talent. Once you do that, probably the recieving paths will
become more obvious. Everybody has some talent that turns out to be
saleable... I earn money thru my talent for acting like a sadistic
bitch. Go figure... I used to think that was my BAD side.. hid it
most carefully.
Most K. folk do become self -employed tho.. Goddess makes her own
schedules, and too bad, 9 to 5 world. Try to avoid multilevel
marketing...:0
As you have figured out, no-one else can really give you the
answers.. but we learn from each other anyway.

Intuitive stuff.. feels like a chakra opening to me... lower
chakras, issues of abundance. Spend some time thinking about all the
times you might have been short of cash, and some small miracle has
come through. Grab onto that energy. Your "scarcity consciousness"
can become a self fulfilling prophecy if you let it get too much
energy. I know telling you to keep the faith when you are scared is
not much help tho.. Keep on telling the worries "thankyou for
sharing" when they come up so your unconscious knows you have
heard
the message, and give them no more energy than that. You won't die,
and Goddess won't let you starve.
Take many steps back from what you think you want and need, until
some fresh new ideas of bliss come in. It could be that a part of
you is looking to "delete some attachments' by not being able to
affoard them anymore. Taken to extremes, bankruptcy is a fresh
start.. tearing down the old to build anew. Humor is useful
sometimes. Spin your fears up so huge and extreme they become
ridiculous, laughable, and laugh them away.
Practical stuff.
I have some books for you.
The first one is called "Wishcraft", dunno the author, but my copy
(in storage) had a rainbow on the cover. It will be easy for you to
find. The first half of the book is self-detective games to figure
out what you really want, the second half is how to get it with
maximum ease of creativity. Brilliant, practical and flexible enough
to adapt to k. I would also reccommend Shakti Gaiwan's "Creative
Visualization" for learning to focus the manifestation energy more
clearly. And a good book on Self Hypnosis. Milton Erickson was a
genius hypnotist, his books are good. Self hypnosis is often a
better tool for dealing with K. than meditation, because it is more
structured for the western mind, and explains how to teach yourself
to reach a very deep level where the inner voice is clear readily
with a small internal signal. It will also teach you a lot about the
stuctures and workings of your unconscious mind. For learning to
shift and reprogram internal blocks easily, I would also recommend
Tony Robbins "Personal Power." NLP: Neurolinguistic programming
rose out of the discoveries of Ericksonian Hypnosis... it works like
a dream and is also readily adaptable to k.
Sometimes when I am really stuck, first I write myself out a long
list of questions with yes/no answers, and then relax and focus, and
use a simple kinesiology trick to get the answers. Write out the
questions first, and if you find the awnswers diverse so you need to
write anothr list of questions, stop and do that, then go back to
seeking answers. In this way you put the emotion into the question
writing it, and it's easer to stay neutral when getting answers. A
pendulum works well, once you get the hang of it.
Thre is an easy one called "sticky" you do woth smooth plastic, like
a credit card. Hold the card by the ends in your left hand, and slide
your middle fingertip back and forth while thinking "yes". then "no".
You will find that thinking "no", your finger will not slide on the
plastic as easily as "yes". Negative thoughts cause a tiny
perspiration reaction that makes the card seem "sticky". Practice
until you can feel the difference clearly. Then take your list of
questions and ask them to yourself one by one, not thinking of the
answer but letting the feel of the card plastic tell you the answers
one by one. I will repost another kinesiology excercise by Kurt
Wright, but your body will tell you without any strategies. Yes is
heart lightness, no is gut feeling dread. Blessings, Angelique.

Dear Susan,
I've stayed away from Reiki for partly the same reasons. The secrecy of the
symbols bothers me. I took several classes in Omega (similar to Reiki, but
supposedly more powerful). After K awakening, I was meditating one day and
saw some symbols floating away from me, particularly my hands. I questioned
what it was and the answer really surprised me: We are removing some Omega
symbols because they are 'contaminating' your field of energy.
I'm sure this was just a simplified explanation, but it certainly left me
with a leary attitude toward 'secret' symbols!
