I've been practicing the yogic tradition of brahmacharya for a while now(the
art of celibacy) and in the process learned some powerful techniques. If
anyone is interested in disussions or practise concerning this(or lightwork

Free will, yes we all have been created with that, thank God (or whomever)
Sorry if I seemed to cross over the "LINE" didn't realize that one
existed. I just need to understand why one needs to find what is inside
through the use of drugs, (seems like crutch to me) I would think, (and
maybe others wouldn't) that there is more gratification in finding that which
is inside and sacrid by yourself and through your own expertise. Enlighten
me on this, I can't seem to understand.
As for driving the speed limit, yes, I do. Drinking only if I am not
driving, and very minimal. I still maintain that a society must exist with
rules, go back in history and see why. Do you not enjoy the comforts of
laws, are you afraid of murders, rapists, etc. would you spend the night
with one? The laws keep people who have problems like that away from you.
Do you support the actions of a vicious person who freely chooses to kill or
rape???? That is freedom of choice also. What would you do against that
freedom of choice??

Hi k-ites,
Just a couple of cents .... from Dan-RF. I think it was Dr. Weil
who
pointed out that almost all societies have USED drugs (the narrow few
groups who have renounced drugs still seek drug-like experiences through
meditation, prayer, self-flagellation, etc.).
He states that where problems occur is in believing there is no
valid
recreational/religious USE for 'illegal' drugs and that denial is
usually expounded by professing all illegal drug USE as ABUSE. Thereby
you get the connundrum of marijuana being categorized in the U.S. as a
substance of ABUSE and therefore, without considering several millenia
of pharmacopeial usage worldwide, of no value medically. Sounds like
another case of black/white, right/wrong, my way or no way.
I think shades of gray are warmer, more loving and what I
choose. The
other way tends to make me judgmental. No, I don't ABUSE drugs, I USE
drugs ... dexedrine to be exact, lots of it day in and day out ... good
stuff ... I like it =-).

Dear RW, and for the K list's records (I tend to get behind the in the mail
so this may seem late, but everyone seemed to jump in the pool on this one)
I hear your concern, and agree that many people shouldn't use drugs. Many
people who do, use them for the wrong reasons. As for legality, people drink
and drive and smoke till their lungs fall out. I think that legalizing the
drugs, allowing for restrictions and regulations will suck the money out of
drug pushers and gang members, and could give quite abit back to the
government. Sorry to sound like I'm into wild conspiricies, but the USA used
to grow hemp and it could save our economy if we started doing it again. I
have to wonder why certain substances stay leagal while others are harshly
delt with. As for my own use, I no longer use illegal drugs. I, as you
suggest, am off looking for the natural, self induced high, much cleaner and
safer than anything artificial. I do think that drug use, when used in the
right context, for the right reasons, and done smartly, can be fun recreation
and spiritual. I do not, however, think anyone should feel they must do
drugs, in any situation, for any reason. As for me being angry all the time,
you've only seen a few of my posts, I think perhaps three have been angry,
and I feel quite justified with them. I get angry when people put down
opinions, and close off valuable, necessary topics for a religious mail
lister as the K list.

Have you ever wanted to see the Third Eye? You heard about it. You've read
about it. It is legendary among seekers and yogis everywhere.
Now you can see it for yourself. There is a picture of one on The
Philosopher's Stone web page. Everybody has one. Start using yours. The
ionstructions are printed below, but you will have to go to the web site to
see the picture.

THE THIRD EYE
[Image] Third Eye Meditation
This is the single eye mentioned in the Bible: "If therefore thine eye be
single, thy whole body shall be full of light." Matthew 6:22. During deep
meditation, this eye becomes visible in the middle of the forehead. The eye
is omniscient and is mentioned in various scriptures as the third eye, the
star of the East, inner eye, dove descending from heaven, eye of Shiva, eye
of intuition. Is is described by Paramahansa Yogananda in AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF A
YOGI.
These are the instructions for the Third Eye Meditation.
It is best to do this when you have an hour to be alone.
Turn off all lights in the room.
Sit in a comfortable chair and relax.
Music is optional but should be soft and uplifting.
Open with your favorite prayer.
If you don't have one you may use one of my favorites:"Heavenly Father,
Divine Mother, Jesus Christ, Krishna, Mohammed, Moses, Confucius, Saints and
Sages of all religions, we humbly bow to you all. May thy love shine forever
on the sanctuary of our devotion; and may we be able to awaken they love in
all hearts, everywhere. OM, PEACE, SHANTI, AMEN." - Paramahansa Yogananda
Light incense if this makes you feel better.
Look at the Picture of the Vision of the Third Eye.
Allow the attention to flow toward the star in the center of the picture.
Count slowly to 144.
Then close the eyes and count to 144 again.
You may notice an image appear with your eyes closed, but the colors are
reversed.
Continue flowing the attention into the space between the eyebrows if you
cannot yet see anything.
After counting to 144, open the eyes and look at the picture again.
Count to 144 looking at the star in the center.
Close the eyes and count to 144 continuing to look at the Inner Light.
Open the eyes and count to 144.
Do not be distracted by anything at this time. You may see the picture move.
This is not due to any programing from my web site. Though you will find out
later the third eye is really interactive in mystical ways. Someday you may
even be able to see the air between you and the picture. But please continue
to repeat the closing and opening of the eyes.
Close the eyes and remain in silent meditation for as long as you like.
(Do not strain the eyes at any time. If the eyes become tired or feel
strained, discontinue the practice.)
Someday you will be able to see the light in your head without going to the
picture first.
Whether with or without the visual aid, however, you can gain beneficial
results.
When you see the light within , this is the time to pray for what you want.
"Ask and ye shall receive."
After some practice you will be able to relax so much that you will be able
to concentrate fully on the Vision so that you will be able to leave your
body asleep and travel through the Third Eye. Those who go into the golden
ring will be in the Astral, dream world of the 4th dimension. Where you go
from here depends upon your imagination for it is the Image - I - Nation
which creates everything you see at this level. You travel at the speed of
thought so it is best you decide a destination before you depart. So have
this in mind before you begin the meditation. You can even travel to other
astral worlds and visit astral beings. (See AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF A YOGI by
Paramahansa Yogananda, Chapter "The Resurrection of Sri Yukteswar.)
When you enter the dark blue middle of the Third Eye, you will be in the
Causal World, the 5th dimension, known to your religions as Heaven. Here you
will meet with all teh Saints and Sages who have gone before you.
When you penetrate the star in the middle you will meet The Christ. When you
do this often enough Christ will come into your heart and live with you
forever. As Jesus said,
"These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning
of the creation of God.... Behold I stand at the door and knock; if any one
hears my voice and open the door, I will come in to them and will sup with
them, and they with me."
New Testament, Revelation 3:14, 20.
The Third Eye is a door, or opening, or vortex.
Philosophy is the study of knowledge. A philosopher is someone who loves to
learn something new. I sense there are a lot of philosophers out there who
would like to learn more about this Vision of the Third Eye. I suggest you
read Sri Yukteswar's book THE HOLY SCIENCE for further details. For now we
suffice with a quote:
"Philosophers, being able to comprehend the internal electrical Light that
shines within them, find their heart's love flowing energetically toward the
Light that relieves them of all the causes of excitation, cools down the
nervous system to a normal state, and, invigorating their vital powers,
makes them perfectly healthy, both in body and mind. They then accept this
Light as their Divinity or Savior."
The picture of The Third Eye was drawn in ClarisWorks by Jon Locke. He
retains full rights to it and these meditation instructions. However,
sincere students are welcome to download it and print it out for use in
private and distribute it so long as no charge is made for this picture or
meditation instructions. It is the tradition of my teachers that spiritual
truth should not be restricted to those who have money, but should be given
freely to all who sincerely seek it.
The vision of the third eye was given to me by my guru Paramahansa Yogananda
on his birthday celebration in 1968. I was reading in a footnote in Self-
Realization Fellowship Magazine that a fully enlightened guru does not need
to receive gifts on his birthday and therefore he enjoys giving gifts to his
disciples on that day. I was practicing the OM technique (Yoni Mudra) at the
time and needed some help in seeing the third eye which is the object of the
technique. I thought of asking the Master for help so entered that in my
opening prayer the morning of his birthday. No sooner had I begun than a
bright golden light appeared in the darkness. Thrilled beyond words I
nevertheless maintained a steady gaze into the center of the vision as
instructed previously. The golden light formed two semicircles, which I was
later to learn were the electric couples which form creation. Soon they
joined into a beautiful round circle of bright golden light. It was moving
as if they were flames. Next I saw the star in the center . It was
brilliant, with so many points I could not count them all. Then I remembered
this was the time to ask for anything you want. I thought I will ask for
this vision to return to me any time I do this meditation. And indeed it
does! I have used it over the years to bless my life and that of others. Jai
Guru.
My way of thanking Yogananda is to spread this gift to the world so that
everyone may enjoy the benefits of creating their own reality from a higher
level. I am not the best artist in the world but I have attempted to
recreate for you a reasonable facsimile. Meditating on this image helps
reproduce it in your mind. Do not let anyone tell you it is just a retinal
image retained for awhile. With continued practice you will be able to see
the light magnify in your head until it is all you see. And then you can
merge with it and become One with the Light. It is not a figment of your
imagination because there is something on the other side responding to you.
Whenever you take a step toward God, God takes a step toward you. This
increasing response manifests in your daily life over a period of time as
greater health, clarity of thought and happiness. In other words the third
eye IS Interactive. Whatever thoughts and feelings you put into it will come
back out, and in great abundance. Don't expect a lot the first time. It
takes practice. But doing this once a day for a month or so will definitely
bring results.
The best times to meditate are 6 am, 12 noon, 6 pm and 12 midnight. This is
when helpful magnetic vibrations flow around the earth. Of course everyone
is not able to meditate at these times. But great power can be maintained
when a lot of people join together in a group meditation. Since there is no
distance in Reality, because you transcend time and space during meditation,
it is quite simple for us to meditate all around the world. You may use this
Third Eye Meditation when you are asked to join in a stargate or ritual
meditation on a Global basis. Even a few people in each time zone could
meditate for one hour each. This would link us up into a continuous 24 hour
third eye prayer vigil. All we need is to chose the same topic. Perhaps the
word PEACE is best known around the world for a good subject to meditate on.
Let us do this for the month of April and see what happens. I will join you
once a day at one of these times.

The buddha is always there, if only we open up, listen, look,
listen,think, feel and use what's there already....This is becoming a
kundalini orgy of positive affirmation of the intrinsic potential within
us all....we're in this together - quote from WH Auden, British poet,
"We must love one another or die." Just goes deeper and deeper and we
all get higher and higher....welcome to spiritual reality - the only one
there is. Guess my skill is giving what i've got, natural ease when
relating to others, not quite so good when managing private affairs on
own, but getting better since joining kundalini list.

Have been reviewing private and list messages of first week on net with
a view to using as basis for media activities pinpointing issues, areas
of interest and practical advice when dealing with kundalini experience,
and the general standard is quite extraordinary - have progressed
further in a week on kundalini list in thinking and organising and
structuring knowledge and experience than in years meeting occasional
fellow yogis.....so here's A REALLY BIG THANK YOU TO EVERYONE for making
this a truly positive, life-affirming and co-operative venture steeled
in the fire of experience and knowledge and the emergent wisdom that is
so badly needed.....in Buddhism we'd call you the SANGHA or spiritual
community, which is the third and most crucial of the three jewels of
Buddhism - enlightenment and loneliness do not make good bedfellows. So
thanks again and keep up the high standard of messages and responses and
general playfulness of mood. So many aspects to the buddha
mind...infinite forms....and lots of humour too. kEEP IT COMING, HERE
COMES THE DAWN...AND ITS SILVER....LIKE THE BUDDHA OF PURIFICATION,
