What the Fuck!!!
Why are so many people out their making fun of drug using mystics. It's been
well documented that drugs used in both primitive and modern times have been
used to achieve new states of conciousness. I think that my drug use sped up
much of my process. I mean to suggest that anyone should take drugs, but I
think if this list should hold any merit, we should be able to discuss drugs,
sex, life, death, desires, disgusts, ect. without getting a billion joke
replys. We get enought mail on this list already. Yes some of the replys
are funny, but I don't make jokes about people religions or the sex/non sex
habits.
There, it feels good to vent.

The heat is from your third chakra, the navel chakra if you will. It's
called Manipura (sp?). It's bija mantra is "ram" or "rang", chant once
throughout the whole exhail and concentrate on the navel (repeate) to
activate the chakra. It's perhaps a good idea to activate the heart chakra
first, just so if the heat gets too intense it has a way to release.
Activate the heart by the bija mantra "eeeyang".
In eastern traditions, you get most of you power through this chakra, it's
directly connected to the umbilical cord/life force, and almost all the
energy nerves/nadis.
Let me know if you get some good reactions, the third chakra is still a
toughie for me.

I just finished reading a truly exciting and disturbing book called
"Spiritwalker" by Hank Wesselman. It is (non fiction) written by an
anthrooogist who finds himself entering the bocy, mind and experience of
a young Hawaiian man living 5,00 years in the future. In the book there
is a lot of discussion about "therianthropes", half men (women!) half
beast who appear as spirit guides and helpers. Sounds like this is what
you have here.

Yes, i am compelled to write about this particular fear also. For years I
have had horrible dreams where i find myself on edges of rooftops, antennas,
buildings, and so on. I am overwhelmed with fear, total utter fear. It is a
true nightmare. Lately, these dreams have been happening more often. I have
recently started practicing some meditation/energy exercises, and i feel i
might achieve a lucid dream soon.
So, my question is simply what the heck should i do? Is it or is it not
'safe' to jump over the edge? Should i give in to the fear, perhaps by
running into the building? What can this dream possible represent?

The JREF Challenge amount has now reached US$1,100,000. And, though
this amount is available to any "Therapeutic Touch" practitioner who
wants it, and the June 2-4 trials are planned for Fort Lauderdale, NOT
ONE application has been received! Strange. With thousands of
trained practitioners out there, we were expecting (?) a swarm of
eager applicants. Do we begin to suspect that TT is a cruel hoax
worked on helpless hospital patients?
I'm in Washington, D.C., and will return to Florida on Monday. Will
there be a line-up at the JREF door? Will Ed Dames, the famous
"psychic," be answering my challenge? Or begin to tell the truth
about his fear of being tested?
I think we all know the answers to these questions.
James Randi

Dear dchern,
Thanks for your response. Yes I think many systems of yoga start with
the right. The left side of the body is, I believe, related to the right
hand side of the brain which is associated with the yin/female/creative
aspects of life, so that makes sense. Never had a muscle tear in
cervical region, or anywhere else for that matter, but did have cramp
sometimes in shoulder and toes which eventually was burnt out and
cleansed away. If you're having raw energy control problems, I found
that integrating a little of everything worked well in cooling things
down and bringing harmony to subtle energy - Learnt basics of tai chi,
qi kung, shiatsu and aikido and hatha yoga and just well, played around
with them until felt grounded and centred - no good adopting formal
discipline in classical style as this either created incredible
resistance within - like a pressure cooker, or almost blew my head off
as just too intense and severe. People remarked on how graceful I was
for a while on the dance floor (which for me was quite a compliment if
you'd seen me dance before), but this passed too and the body became
less crucial. Hope this is useful Rgds Yogi Tom

A few members have written going into light and I would like to tell of an experience that occurred to myself some years ago.
A young woman asked if she could use our residence to conduct past life regression for a number of people in this area. Permission was given and over a two day period she conducted the regression on a good number of people. The second day there was still time after the last person was here and she asked if I would like to try the regression. Agreement was made to do so but, I did not expect to experience too much as I had already experienced so many past lives that the only thing I could think of is that many of them must have been Parallel lives.
When I had made myself comfortable, she started the regression. Down the 19 steps I stepped and the down the hallway, at the end of which, there were supposed to be doors that were to be opened and passed through into a past life but, when I arrived to where the doors were supposed to be, they were smashed down and I just stepped through the opening into light.
I was just inside when suddenly Love flooded into my being completely filling it. It just constantly poured down into me for an hour and a half. I sensed that she also was being filled with that same Love. At the end of an hour and a half I came up from wherever I had been and we talked for ten minutes about what had happened.
After the ten minutes I made myself comfortable again and was immediately filled with Love again but this time it was from the Earth and it too flooded my whole being and also lasted for one and half hours. The love was different but the same, a real paradox but it made me very aware that the earth is a living entity.
Afterwards, I made dinner for the two of us, very little speaking was done. Later we went down to the shore and sat on steps leading down to the water. I soon became aware that she was bumping into me, hip to hip. I would move to the side and so would she. I don't think she even realized it was occurring.

Hello all..
I haven't really posted much on this list, so for those of u who don't
remember or haven't seen me, my name is Amy and I am 15. I live in Missouri..
Anyway, I have some opinions & questions :) First, my question--what is
hypnotism? I know what it 'sis', but what is it really? Does it really
work?? I used to be facinated with it not so long ago--I used to try
hypnotising my friends, and they tried hypnotising me-it never worked on
me though for some reason. But I haven't thought about it for a long
time, till suddenly it popped into my head last night. Suddenly I'm
facinated again. What is it? How does it work? Does it have anything
to do with kundalini (directly)? It seems like it should. Could anyone
help me?
Now, something I wanted to say:: about scientists.. please, PLEASE don't
judge them or treat them like alien beings who have completely narrow
minds and aren't open at all to 'supernatural' or 'unordinary' things..
remember they are human beings first :) My mom is a scientist, and she
is very open minded.. in fact, she is one of the first people I talk to
when something wierd happens to me. Sometimes anyway--but I think
science is so close to unordinary and supernatural (for lack of better
words..) I LOVE science.. it's facinating.. sometimes it assumes too
much and looks at only a tiny bit of what it's looking at, but I love to
argue too and I don't believe everything I'm told.. in fact, I am
thinking of doing something related to physics, like becoming an
astronaut or pilot. Especially a pilot--I LOVE to fly :) And maybe I'll
be the first person on Mars someday (doubt it, but u never know) But
anyway, I think I made my point. Please don't take me the wrong way or
get offended..
Oh, another question.. does anyone know anything about Nez Perce Indian
names? My grandpa, the summer before he died, wrote me a letter and gave
me an indian bracelet that had been given to him by an old Nez Perce
woman when he was small (I was 2 that summer); and he also gave me the
Nez Perce name that she had given to his little sister: Su-sapp-pee. Can
anyone tell me what it means wor where to find out? He didn't know.
Thank you all
amy

Everyone's getting terribly sensitive and even a bit pious aren't
they....isn't the point that we're all in this together, so we might as

Kundalini is pretty robust, I think she can handle it.Of course it's
hard to gauge where to pitch humour and irony to such a large audience,
but overall, I'm having a lot of fun....Yogi Tom

since my awakening, an area in my back on the right side between the wing
and the spinal column buzzes or itches constantly. about six months ago a
knot formed there that was incredibly painful and had to be worked out. I
have no idea if K is the reason. I don't even know if K is awake in me.
after my initial awakening, my left hand buzzed for months. Went to other
areas of my left side as well. For a year and a half (and sometimes still)
my left leg would nag and nag in the evening. meditation would stop it.
Perhaps it was a signal to do my meditation as I do it morning and evening.
I really don't have a clue. My forehead and the top of the bridge of my
nose buzzed to certain tones in music. Is this K? I don't get anything else
folks on this list get ( visions, locutions, etc) so perhaps not.
Love,
Susan

Dear Yogi Tom,
This subject comes up often and there seems to be a delicate balancing
here with many of us. I always feel uneasy when I have to 'coral the
horses' to avoid certain situations.
We could all benefit immensely if you could detail examples from your
own experience when the above has happened.
Thank you so much,
Joe

Hello, Amy. I'm not an expert, but I play one on T.V.:)
According to certain writers suggestion plays an important part in yoga.
Here are some quotes and references for you. Rammurti S. Mishra, M.D.
Aurthor or Fundamentals of Yoga(Harmony Books 1987 edition).
"Suggestion(dhyana) is the most important of these three." Suggestion is
the underlying and fundamental cause of all mental phenomena and is the
powerful instrument of samadhi." Mental suggestion are as real as the
universe around you."Autosuggestion, therefore, means talking to
yourself and suggesting to yourself." Suggestion is the Key to
Meditation."
>From Paul F. Case in the book The Tarot. " As a symbol of duplication,
reflection, copying, transcription, reproduction, and so on, it relates
definitely to memory." The number 2 also "suggests" the ideas of
duplicity, illusion, error and delusion." This is correct, because
subconsciousness repeats and elaborates the mistaken faulty observation
of self-conscious." Speaking on card number 8 he say's"Over her head is
the same horizontal 8 that hovers over the head of the Magician." It
indicates the fact that subconsciousness receives the
"impress" (suggestions) of self-conscious mental states, and is modified
by self-conscious selectivity and initiative."Subconsciousness always
directs the activities of the subhuman forces of nature."
Subconsciousness, in turn, is alyays amenable to impressions originating
at the self-conscious level of mentation."
>From the Key to Yoga by Walter B. Gibson(Ottenheimer Publisher,1958)
"This latter interpretation provides us with a key to yoga and the more
fanciful phases of the science." It tells why so much can be
accomplished under the instruction of a guru. His powers of suggestion,
trained and controlled through long practice, can be passed along to the
chela, who absorbs them unknowingly, perhaps hynotically."
Hope this is of some help to you. Oh one more thing about the card
Strength. P.F.C. also say's "The woman's yellow hair identifies her to
represent creative imagination and the subconscious "generation" of
mental imagery.
