    Yup, looking to the future takes you out of the Now. The shadow of hope
is fear of the future and a desire to control outcomes.

    The Mayans had a cool calendar, yay. They had some interesting
mysticism too. They also practiced human sacrifice, slavery, cannibalism...
do we really want to take their predictions seriously? mmmmmm I think not.
