Subject: [K-list] Holosync
From: J.E. Bradley

On 2004/09/24 02:51, J.E. Bradley posted thus to the K-list:

I don't know if the holo/hemisync does, in fact, entrain the brainwaves and
provide for more coherence, whether it's anything more than theory, but what
I do know is that it's done wonders for me.

I'm a thousand times calmer, I think more clearly, I'm far more creative,
and I'm sure there's other stuff I'm just not consciously aware of, and
these effects do persist. Basically, it's my meditation. I've always
preferred to do some kind of active meditation -- one of my favourites is
what I call spinning (not the bike kind, the kind where you turn around and
around in a circle). And stuff like weeding and scraping paint and drawing;
basically, anything time-consuming and repetitive. Gets the mind quiet, but
not the body, which I suspect isn't as good as the real thing. However,
sitting quiet for more than about 42 seconds is a serious challenge for me,
so the holosync was an amazing find.

As an aside, I've tried both hemi and holosync, as well as playing around
with the brainwave generator program, and they all strike me as variations
on a theme. There doesn't seem to be any difference in effect; for me it
comes down to personal preference (i.e., whether or not it's the sound of
rain/water, bells, music, etc.)

All the best,
Jude
