Dear Annabel

The mental fog and dissipation is something I have a lot
of experience with myself, and I wouldn't say everything
of it is related to K, but some definitely is..

It can be a natural process.. The structure of your mind
Becomes restructured, and for that, things have to be
Taken apart before they are put back together, it can make
us feel tired, lightheaded, disoriented and.. the feeling of
not being "quite yourself", which I am sure you are familiar
of.

To some extent, I think it's a process that we have to ride
Through, but I believe there are things that can be done, too
And that's to find something to focus on. Since K is active
And spontaneous, it will probably highlight some of the mental
Dissipation already within us, and try to purge it out from us..
What we CAN do is to aid her.. And I see two ways to do this..
One is to simply relax and ride through these experiences, the
Other is to find yourself an anchor..

Have you ever tried Tratak on a symbol, or mantra repetition
Meditation? These things give your mind an anchor, a focus,
Puttin its energies where you want and need them, and also
Make the process of awakening smoother, because they help
Purify the different layers of our being, beginning with the
Mind, but also affecting the energy, emotions, physical body,
Psychic structure, etc. (Apologies for all the Caps in some words
, some sort of auto correction is turned on, heh)

In the system of yoga, Japa yoga (mantra repetition) is used
Both to prepare for K awakening (in some cases can even bring it
About), but also to help stay in harmony after the awakening
Has begun.. So, it's never too late to start it. =)
I've taken a mantra from a guru myself and reaped enourmous
Benefits from it.. (Gah, these caps, I sound like a preacher, lol)
If there are no teachers/gurus at hand, or you don't want one, you
Can choose the mantra AUM as your mantra, or SO HAM (the mantra of the
breath) Once you chose it, don't change it though, that will just
Bring about more dissipation.

Often the mantra comes with a symbol (since sound is form, and form
Has a sound, too), which can be meditated upon.. You can practice
Tratak, which is uninterrupted gazing on a symbol, internal or external,
Which will gradually diminish the feeling of mental dissipation.
If you want to really look into Tratak or any other form of Dharana
(Concentration), you could check out the book
"Dharana Darshan" by Swami Niranjanananda Saraswati, it takes up almost
every form of concentration meditation that is worth knowing, with
complete transcripts and step-step instructions.. Of course, if you can
find a good teacher, all the better..

Personally, I've found both mantra and symbol to be extremely efficient
And soothing in the midst of mental turmoil.

With love
Gustaf
