I have a question sbout the involvement of sexual
actibity and "attainment" of self realisation.
According to my intuitive guiding force, any activity
without attachment does not attract Karma or debt
either positive or negative...no connotations, just
descriptive in terms of experiencing it.
Krishna, the revered Hindu avatar who imparted immense
wisdom in his Bagavad Geeta discourse led a life of
"womanizing, sexual activities and orgies, deceit and
lies" all said and done through the supreme eye of
knowing one's Divinity and recognising another's Karma
and thus demostrated that any activity if engaged in
oneness will give pleasure but bring about no baggage
to get rid of as a consequence of it.
he is believed to have had 10,000 sexual partners and
the more covert and prude "hindusits" sing his leelas
as an act of the divine, of song and dance....
but in Krishavatar vol 11 while describing the geeta
govindam (i guess?? not sure, written by Radhakrishnan
read it a long time back as a kid, was my source of
porn believe it or not!!) there are graphic
descriptions of sexual acts of Kriahna and Radha, his
teenage beloved...which shocked my young mind then, as
i used to believe holiness/spirituality was saperate
from sexuality...but later helped me accept sexuality
and sexual development as GOd had also allowed himself
to experience or something like that..
I guess my point is, I have been struggling with
embracing sexual expression in general as a valid or
one of the "allowed" way to just experience God?? A
lot of misunderstanding in my mind
why is it that all ancient spiritual saints from all
walks of faith (except the recent/modern/new age
"rebellious" ones like Osho) have either attained
self-realisation during stages of celibacy or sanyass?
and have always been prudish or have proscribed sexual
activity (or so i am the only one who feels thus! lol)
except in the context of singing praises of Krishna
seducing his beloved?
Why is love and sexual love so misunderstood? why is
DETACHMENT associated with this?
Just pondering...i guess the answer lies in my
accepting it within as a valid means of expression of
ones divinity? im sure ill get aLL these mails about
how its irrelevant and the only thing that matters is
me...but i guess all those ones here are disgruntled
to a large extent with misunderstanding detachment as
giving up of what u need...more like the
post-constantine tone in Christanity (Sorry, my
History sucks maybe it was'nt Constantine, the Roman
emperor but someone who during his time who aided in
spreading Christ's teachings..who was a womaniser all
his life and then for some reason started prophesising
celebacy as the means to salvation...that Guy...)
PS: most of my posts are musings....i just keep
typing...A lot of timea, i have refrained from posting
though my hands are itching to go at it...just so that
i can see if my sharing meeds to first filter into
myself within...
However, this i find a lot helpful to mysaelf and to
the answers i get to these posts...If the group feels
that they are too long and pointelss, Please share
with me and I will curtail my ramblings/
