   This is lovely, Deepak.

I personally prefer to avoid the terminology of "lessons" because I
believe that on a soul level, we already know all there is to know.

Our formative years are spent in school, so we get the impression that
life is a school too, with the school dynamic of tests, punishment, passing
or failing grades, gathering information that is right or wrong. Goddess
doesn't judge, or test...

In my experience, most of what people think of as "lessons" are
actually limiting beliefs... and to attain realization requires letting go
of everything we think we know, to make room for the consciousness expansion.

"Know nothing, be everything. Be nothing, know everything."

Getting out of what we think we know, our learned beliefs and
preconceptions, allows the Divine wisdom to come through. It tells us
whatever we need to know, in the moment so long as we are in that
transparent place of being nothing and everything.
Of course, that too, is a belief... :)

I prefer to speak of experiences, growth, and patterns. Ego patterns,
personality patterns, habitual behaviors that are effective or ineffective
in creating a happier, more fulfilling life experience. From that
perspective, there is no right or wrong, good or evil, just a dynamic of
change, of expansion, growing and evolving.

Things are effective in attaining the desired life experiences, or they
are not. There is no right or wrong, no moral judgment. No tests to pass or
fail.

Particularly since I work with people of so many different paths,
religions, cultures and backgrounds. I'm not interested in judging one path
as better than another, that is illusion... the stuff that leads to Holy wars.

I'm more interested in whether the individual path, is effective for
that individual achieving fulfillment. Not out to convert anyone, it is
more of a tweaking.

Not scrapping the current vehicle, (path, religion) and getting a whole
new ride, but rather giving the current vehicle a wash, polish, oil change
and tune up so it runs better.

With the human energy body, I often find myself removing "aftermarket
additions" that have proven ineffective or detrimental, and restoring the
vehicle to "factory specs." Goddess' original design is perfection.

For example, lately the people who come for Tummo initiations, are
wanting to also get the reiki symbol implants removed... and with the
symbols burnt away they find themselves feeling lighter, more free.

The power to share energy to heal, is intrinsic to the human body,
naturally built in. Reiki is not required, and within the intent of the
symbols are some very dualist limiting beliefs. The symbols are an
"aftermarket addition" that appears to improve performance in the short
term, but limits it in the long term.

For someone new on the spiritual path, a reiki initiation can help to
clear channels and guide the flow of the body energy, but as the individual
evolves closer to a state of nonduality, the symbols show up as blockages
to be removed.

It is like a land developer who encases a stream in a sewer pipe. Over
time, a stream will naturally change its course, and it cannot, if so
forcibly redirected.

Reiki symbols are very dualist, the energy of intention behind the
symbols has a paradigm of "good and bad" energy... and they are intended to
last a lifetime... but those same intentions interfere with ascension to
nonduality, later on in the individual evolutionary process.

I prefer to work with what Goddess designed. Grounding, Kundalini,
Tummo are inherent, natural. Human potentials that are built into the
original Divine design, that can be activated, and allowed to unfold as
Goddess Wills.

I agree that progress towards change involves first taking
responsibility, ownership rather than victimhood... My own path involves
surrender, and I cannot give away what is not mine to give. As you say:

>as far as thankfulness goes, if one approaches it thru
>a feeling of "i created the things th way they
>are....hard to believe that i created the misery but
>true...and since its my creation i send it love and
>acceptance for what it has taught me and am willing to
>learn from it if i havent already....
>AND IMportantly, i have the power to change it if i am
>the one who created it....

In a way, it is illusion, but it is still an effective strategy. On a
higher chakra dimensional level, ultimate responsibility for what Is,
belongs entirely to Goddess, free will is illusion... but the ego, within
that illusion, has ideas of ownership and control, responsibility... and so
the ego must take ownership, responsibility, in order to surrender the
issues or patterns to the higher power.

>I think terms like ego and defeating and overcoming it
>make something internal to fight with and hence
>further resistance and fear...

I agree. War is not surrender, and although it can be tiresome to be
so particular about language and terminology, nevertheless the words we
choose have power. They shape and reflect our thinking and attitudes, and
therefore our results.

>the term "ego-death" i think is more of a ascending
>into the light by which all attributes of me,
>(including my imperfections) now speak from a
>confident love seat and seek for further growth from a
>knowing and secure level"

I see ego as having shape and structure in the energy body. Patterns of
emotional baggage and ineffective or limiting beliefs, which when
surrendered or let go, piece by piece, (ascended) change the nature of
ego, or individuality, from a clouded narrow "reality tunnel" into the lens
of perception. A transparent window for the light of the soul to shine
through, and illuminate the life experience.

As ego ascends through its aspects being surrendered, it merges with the
higher self, which descends into the body to be the individual consciousness.

So many enlightened Masters, and each of them unique. Individuality,
uniqueness is inherent in the DNA. Each codon selected from the DNA of the
parents at conception, by the soul itself, to design a vessel that will be
most effective for accomplishing the soul purpose of incarnation.

Yet, on another level, I think life does not need a reason, or purpose.
It just Is. Simply Being, is enough. Even so, the human consciousness
finds value in assigning meaning and purpose to the individual existence...

... as Victor Frankl wrote in "Man's search for meaning." (I think that
is the title...) Life's events can be a curse or a blessing depending on
what meaning we assign to them. A remarkable man, he found enlightenment
while a prisoner in Auschwitz. He realized that no matter what the camp did
to his body, the Nazis could not control his heart and mind... he was and
would always be, free.

My own DNA has some qualities, that are called "Attention deficit
disorder"... what terminology! Deficit! Disorder! Socially and culturally,
they are considered imperfections that give me a label of handicap, and
make me basically unemployable in the regular workforce...

but by going with the flow and persistently looking for the gifts, the
other qualities of ADD: the creativity, genius, sensitivity, ability to
hyperfocus, ease of out of body experience... these qualities shine
brightly in the life's work I have manifested for myself. ADD is more of a
gift than a disadvantage or disorder, to me.

Goddess gets it right, in the original design. The things we judge as
problems, imperfections, are gifts that we have not yet found a use for. .................................................
