Hello K-list members,

I am new to this site. I have been through intense mystical experiences. I
have been trying to understand them as I was unprepared for anything of this
sort, and so joined several yahoo groups on spirituality. Finally, I got advice
telling me that I had / am experiencing kundalini. Having read on the subject
as well as on chakras, I am not sure at all if what I am feeling corresponds
to k. Until I read about the 'symptoms' on the FAQ, and notice many
similarities. Anyway, here is a part of my story. Hopefully, I can get advice if this is
kundalini.

I am a 29 year old frenchman, working in the tourism industry (english being
my second language).
My first experience with the 'non rational' and paranormal began november
2002. Since then, I have encountered many different states and feelings...some
just 'typical' kind of paranormal experience, some more odd.

Last November, I 'met' a woman (friendship) on the internet that was speaking
to me about her near death experience when she had attempted to commit
suicide, and how it had changed her life. As she was speaking more and more about
her visions from her meditations, I was fascinated. What happened is that in the
middle of the night as we were speaking for hours on the net, I asked her to
communicate her love for me on the spiritual plane. (we were feeling this
strong linkage; it wasnt at all based on 'desire' rather on similarities in our
lifes and personalities). As she was telling me how much she 'loved' me, I told
her 'no I dont want to 'know' it, I want to 'feel' it (we were just 2000 km
apart...) : suddenly I was overwelmed by extremely intense energy all inside my
brain, I had this 'force' in the center of my head irradiating like a little
sun. It was so intense, I could hardly support its force. It lasted maybe 20
seconds at an intense level (which is long). Since then, my brain has never
recovered. I still feel 'beams' all inside my brain...constantly, although
differently : before it was very intense and in the middle of my brain, now it is
spread all over it.
At this point I entered a very deep mystical period having many experiences
similar to what you all have been experiencing. First, I had a very intense
vision as I was staring to the picture of a Zen Buddhist master (well known): the
image illuminated and I saw 2 'divine' figures : one of a Bodhisatva type
looking sideways, and one of some incredible Goddess, very very stunning. This
came like thunder...it was an energy shock I had a few more open eyed conscious
visions where the colour purple magenta was predominant (I saw an arrow being
shot in front of my closed eyes...) I could feel the smell of roses and a very
sweet kind of 'nectar'. Twice, I experienced seeing everything spinning
around me at sonic speed (and always stopping as I begged for it to stop, thank God
:)
The most difficult period to cope with was when I 'experienced' God in
everyone and everything. At this time, I could feel some much energy beams in my
brain, I thought my head would explode. Any minor thing would bring me to
illumination, and then my beams would go crazy. It was so much too handle, that I
intuitively figured that the only way to get 'my' illumination was to not have
it !

All these things really moved me as I was unprepared, (and it took 5 months
for me to recover). I had never meditated before, and very rarely prayed. I
didn't follow any kind of spiritual path. Now I am trying to set a new course in
my life..but I have these energy 'beams' constantly flasing in my forehead. I
have spoken about them to a Doctor, with no results. These beams can vary in
intensity depending on my mood (I noticed they give me some guidance in a
way), are bearable but have deterioated my concentration abilities. Are they
kundalini ? I have read from your experiences that kundalini starts from the spine
and gradually evolves to the top of the head, but this process never happened
in my case.

I would be more than happy and grateful to hear your opinion and advice (if
any) on my 'energy beams' :)

Thibaud.
