Ron,

The following description presents my understanding of the Kundalini
development process. This is open for extension, elaboration, and
enhancement (and alliteration).

The Kriyas themselves are manifestations of the abstract Kundalini
Shakti. For example, in the physical universe there is an analogous
abstract concept of energy with different instances such as electricity,
heat, magnetism, light, etc.

Kriyas (cleansing processes) can occur in any of the Five Bodies (Panch
Kosha). There are standard activities and symptoms described in books
and on the internet eg at www.elcollie.com. However, each person has
their own "flavour" and even each particular session can have a
different "taste" to it.

Suppose a Kriya has a certain aim. As a consequence or as a side effect
certain actions occur in the body, mind, etc. However, one can
control/guide the actions to make them comfortable without losing the
aim of the Kriya. The Kriyas that occur automatically, spontaneously,
and naturally will generally complete their aims without us knowing the
aims/purpose. Forcing them or trying to stop them is dangerous and
pointless (ie an unnecessary waste of time and effort). However, gently
ensuring that the actions are comfortable is extremely worthwhile, and
is your duty and responsibility.

Chi Kung (Qi Gong) and Yoga are known to help smooth the process.
Therefore you should feel confident in utilising these techniques to
help ease the Kundalini process for yourself. I suggest that you try
some of the short programs in the Daily Timetable at
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/bhavin.desai/yoga. These are all very safe
exercises, designed by Kundalini Yoga Grand Master Swami Dev Murti Ji.

Bhavin.
