Hi Carole,

Welcome to the K-list

> I am therefore still coming to terms with and trying to understand what is happening >to me, and would be most grateful if anyone could tell me if the following symptoms >are a common experiences in kundalini awakening:

>crown of head feeling open and exposed, also creeping feeling
>unpleasant sensation of pressure right side of face
>feeling that facial bones were moving, particularly at top of nose and middle of >forehead (3rd eye area)

The crown chakra opening is indeed related to a K awakening. The pressure on the right side of your face is probably an energy block of some kind. Most likely it will eventually cure itself if you can surrender to the process of cleansing that is taking place in your body. If becomes chronically uncomfortable you might try some acupuncture. There are energy channels throughout the face and so this is probably also related to the opening of the third eye and is creating discomfort around the the brow chakra as it tries to clear.

>nightmares, sleeplessness
>extreme heat
>strong pressure/tingling sensation in spine

Nightmares and insomnia are common occurences in K awakenings. Nightmares may have many causes, usually they are pointing at some concept you need to release. Sleeplessness is the extra energy running around your body and keeping you stimualted. Try a hot saltwater bath at bedtime or walking barefoot through green grass a couple of times a day, this will help ground out the energy.

For a good grounding exercise also see:

Feeling the energy in the spine is the classic sign of K-awakening. Try to surrender to it. Also try moving your attention repeatedly from the top of you head to the base of the spine. This will help clear the energy channel through the center of the spine, called sushumna in Sanskrit, of blockages.

>hearing loud sounds, buzzing, explosive sounds, also music often piano

The chakras throughout the body generate different sounds; humming, whistling, rumbling, trumpets...don't know about the piano, but hey, anything is possible:^)

>facial expressions changing spontaneously or "on their own" at night in bed, usually >to smiling and laughing

These are called "kriyas". Theya are spontaneous body movements of all kinds are not uncommon. Lots of people, including myself, get spontaneous hatha yoga positions. Sounds like yours are trying to communicate some happy positive emotions to you.

>feeling something escape from mouth upon waking
>feeling of having a tight mask on face
>creeping, itching, tingling all over

Sometimes without a the focus like meditation or yoga the energy becomes what I call "eccentric". It just runs around everywhere trying to find something to do:^) See if you can find a spirtual path that resonates for you; tantra, kundalini yoga, kriya yoga, transcendental meditation...ad infinitum.

>seeing fast moving geometric shapes at night, also seeing people, objects and >scenes

As you become more aware of the "psychic" world, these will begin to make more sense. If you find it disturbing, trying taking your index finger and placing it at the top of the forehead and drawing a line down to the bridge of the nose. This will interrupt the magnectic field of the third eye and shut it down temporarily.

>swinging from great interest and belief in spirit to denial and fear of it

Find out all you can about spirituality. It is natural to be skeptical in our scientifically influenced culture. I can tell you from first hand experience, spirit is REAL.

"Luminous beings are we, not this crude material (flesh)."

>seeing a bright light in the head and also in the room, usually blue

More of your third eye developing.

>peoples unkind remarks felt physically

You are sensative to people projected negativities. Try seeing yourself surrounded in a bubble of clear light. Do this several times a day and it will begin to filter out the unpleasant energy. Or just start hanging out with people who are more "aware":^)

>depression

I suffered terrible depressions in my early awakening stages. My problem was lack of information. I did not have anything like the K-list or even the internet to communcate. Keep talking to us. There are many people here who will be happy to help you.

>limbs jerking at night

More kriyas.

>feeling that bed is vibrating

It's probably you that is really vibrating. :^) ZZZZZZZZZ catch the buzz! :^)

>immense fatigue

The grounding excercise will help. You might try altering your diet a bit. Lots of fresh fruit and veggies. And plenty of water.

>very sudden mood swings
>daydreaming/trance like staring

More classic symptoms. You might check with a doctor to see if your lithium levels are correct. Low lithium causes mood swings and causes manic/depressive disorder.

>people getting mild electric shock when touching me

More eccentric energy. Ground. Ground. Ground. Several times a day.

>fear and anxiety
>feelings of expansion and joy

I dealt with fear and anxiety too. They were completely irrational and when I had the courage to face them directly, they fled. Concentrate on the joy and throw in some gratitude for good measure. Do one nice thing for someone else once per day. Do two nice things for yourself everyday.

>Sorry for the huge list, I think there are probably more too if I think about it for long >enough!  I was interested that someone mentioned projecting energy through the >soles of the feet as often when I am in bed I can feel a strong tingling sensation on >my leg where the sole of my foot has touched it.  Is this the same thing?

Your feet are natural grounding points. In some traditions shakti, the energy of the Goddess, is said to first enters the body through the feet. It feels very tingly and warm. Go with it...surrender. It may scare you at first but with a little faith it will take you far down your spiritual path.

>Also, if anyone can answer this, how does one know when the kundalini process is >complete?

Heh heh, never. But it may come to a plateau for you from time to time and give you a rest.

Seek a path that incorporates concentration and meditation. Trust yourself and the Divine nature of the Universe. This is a journey you were meant to take. Ride the wave. It will bring to a new safe, soft sandy shore. If you get a little lost from time to time, just remember to......

Love In Each Moment,
Jason B
