Hello all:

Guess what Hety wrote says it as well as anything I've
read:

Which is why we have people from every Path on this
list. What does seem to me to exist as a truth,
relatively speaking ("smiles") is that when somebody
has "It", is that their being speaks "It". It's a
three-part balance of compassion, beauty, severity
(using the 'Kabbala' model here). I watched this
happen during a talk with the Dalai Lama--from
compassion when speaking English to an almost
machine-gun severity when speaking Tibetan asking his
interpreter how to say something. The power that
radiated from the Dalai Lama then was almost scary in
its intensity. For me, it sent me into the Witness
State, although I rejoiced at the energy as I
experienced it. Ditto with others, including the list
Mistress.
For me, the enlightened have balanced Shadow and Light
and integrated them but that you see either the Shadow
or the Light emanating, depending on what the
circumstances are--the Zen master serenity balanced by
the stick. The gentleness of such people, however,
comes, I think, from knowing that we are truly
infinity powerful:

I like the following speech because it encapsulates,
for me, the process whereby liberation from fear is
what liberates the glory of our being. I used to keep
the Litany on Fear from Dune on my wall to remind me
about the fear I feel about too many things. And
religious intolerance seems to be most of all to exist
because of fear and our ego playing god instead.

Our deepest fear...
(Marianne Williamson)

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate,
Our deepest fear is that we
are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens
us.
We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous,
talented and fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small doesn't serve the world.
There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that
other people won't feel insecure around you.
We were born to make manifest the glory
of God that is within us.
It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously
give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
our prescience automatically liberates others.

The interactions on this list, liberate. I've watched
it happen so many times.
Love, Lesley
