I have to admit that the above notion does sound very mysterious and
spiritual-ish. :) But I have major problems with it.

· How do you *know* there is no evil?
· how does one ascertain that such a perspective is "higher"?
· Does not the use of value-laden terms such as "higher perspective,"
“perfect,’ “acting in imperfect ways,’ etc., imply some kind of judgment
between right and wrong, correct and incorrect?
· Would that not tend to negate the whole thesis that there is no right or
wrong?
· If the universe were already all perfect, how then could people, who are
part of the universe, act in “imperfect ways’?

Obviously, *everything* "is," but such a tautology does not prove the
proposition that there is no good or evil.

More questions.

>There is only perfection in this Universe. And in this universe, people
>act in imperfect ways because they have forgotten who they really are.

Why would beings in a perfect universe “forget’ who they really are? (And
“remembering who you are’ accomplishes what, exactly?)

>People create evil out of their own lack of understanding of the true
>nature of their essence. Since evil is created it can be uncreated.

Certainly, evil can and will be uncreated, but I don't think that happens by
simply not believing in it. Not believing in evil does not change the actual
reality of pain, suffering, and death. You've just renamed it; you're
playing semantic games with it; but you haven't made it disappear. I don't
care how big a "pool of peace" you create in your heart. While this may help
you to bear the evils visited upon you (and there is value in that), it does
not erase the objective existence of evil!

Now this much I do believe. In this material world (which you are a part of,
like it or not—and you are here for a reason), evil exists. But it is of
finite power and finite duration. It accomplishes the furtherance of good;
it is a tool by which God tests, chastises, and teaches his people, for an
ultimately good purpose. But needless to say, if there is no good or evil,
if there is no higher goal to which God is working, then it is rather
pointless of him--or anybody--to do anything. The only "good" thing about
evil is its ability to strengthen us and teach us what NOT to do.

Everytime I hear the notion expressed that there is no good or evil, I
wince. I am incredulous that thinking people could buy into this. It strikes
me as wishful thinking, unfounded in any reality. Not to mention that it's
dangerous, since it excuses any and all actions. If there is no right, then
there are not *rights*. Saddam Hussein is not wrong to put human beings
through shredders. The corporate fraudsters at Halliburton and Carlyle et
al. are not wrong in their war and oil profiteering. Et cetera. It's not
wrong for me to rape, maim or kill you! Is that the reality you wish to live
in?

Aldous Huxley subscribed to the same philosophy: No good or evil, no right
or wrong, no moral code, no meaning to life. But he wrote in Ends and Means
that this philosophy “was essentially an instrument of liberation from...a
certain system of morality. We objected to the morality because it
interfered with our sexual freedom…’ And he acknowledged that "it was the
manifestly poisonous nature of the fruits [the effects of such moral and
sexual unrestraint] that forced me to reconsider the philosophical tree on
which they had grown." In the words of Yahshua of Nazareth, an intense
believer in the reality of good and evil: an evil tree cannot bear good
fruit.

Hey, if you just wanna cast off [personal], moral restraints, it's a free
country! (You are American, right?) Go ahead and do what you want. You don't
need to philosophize about it, or manipulate language and public
discourse--or deny reality! :-)
