Another natural reason for the pause might be to allow a time of
integration. I've had various pauses of varying lengths of time. Most
recently my kundalini has been dormant during a 3-4 year healing period. But
now it seems I am slowly beginning to "wake up" again.

I think pauses are part of the natural flow of the process. As blocks are
cleared there is a realignment of the system to the new order.
