My highest realization has been that the ultimate is a Self that is
devoid of ego; that is pure, unadulterated, all-pervading, awarness. Yet
part of the goal of self-realization now appears to me to be not only the
apprehension of that pure unqualified Self, but also self-actualization --
realization of my own unique qualities and potential as an individual.

Does that make any sense? :)

Dear Ken,

Could that possibly be why you're here, at this time, on this earthly plane?
;-) I see the irony. I feel your paradox. But what else is there -- here?
We will unite with "choose-your-understanding" when we leave our man-made
cases. What else can we do here as human beings except "be?" Be happy. Be
love. Be peace. Be creation. Don't all of those ideas bring one to self
realization? Oh sure, we can "be" other things, like sad, unhappy,
hateful...but is that the soul revealing itself or is that the ego
suppressing the soul?

One of my favorite quotes, forgive me, I'm sure I've quoted it
before...well, maybe not on this list:

Herman Melville from Moby Dick:

"For as this appalling ocean surrounds the verdant land, so in the soul of
man there lies one insular Tahiti, full of peace and joy, but encompassed by
all of the horrors of the half-lived life."

I say, the only happiness we can find on this earth is in our
self-actualization. Don't leave without expressing what is inside of you!
Didn't Lavinia pen a totally wondrous e-mail to this effect? And Ken, I
believe you commented on it.

Love,

Hety
