Hi Karolina,
The raising of the Kundalini does not bring enlightenment. It aligns the
chakras with 'the heavens' instead of the earth, opening them permanently.
This allows your consciousness more freedom, but it does not bring a divine
realization necessarily.

Above all, I see the Kundalini as a tool. It is the most powerful tool to
help in eliminating the egos, the animalistic impulses.

Even in Shakitpat only the seed is planted, its up to you to help it grow.

Subject: [K-list] Kundalini vs. kundalini question

I just followed a link from here to the book "Kundalini Yoga", and is kind
of
marvled by the sheer complicatedness of that process. And that brings me to
the question.

According to hindu sources, all paths of self relisation is according to a
very long and troublesome process, that starts with purifications of various
kinds, correction of character faults like lust, anger and greed, including
quite heavy austerities and so on. After a lengty process of this, self
realisation maybe is acquired.

On the other hand, in the western "new age" arena, arising kundalini and
coming to self-realisation appears as a simple process in comparison. By
shaktipat someone else can raise kundalini for you, and then by some
comparatively easy meditation/visualisation process some kind of cosmic
consciousness is reached. There is no long process of heavy austerity, or
correction of character faults and so on.

This difference troubles me. How can the same thing be so hard, and so
easy?
Is it really the same thing that is attained?

Karolina
