Subject: [K-list] Instructions through sleep
From: J.E.M.

On 2002/12/15 04:37, J.E.M. posted thus to the K-list:

Hi everyone,

Last night I fell asleep asking myself, praying to It/Them/we(?) that I
retrieve the same passion or flame that was bringing me to naturally
without effort be driven to do my yoga every evening even with the pain
I get from the climate we get in my area when winter arrives. For a few
days now I have been feeling growing inside me the desire to go back to
the mat but had not found my way back to it yet so I found myself sort
of talking to myself, asking the Void/All(?) that I find again the
strength and passion to do it every day cause that is how it can bring
me so much that I can't describe. I know it's still in me, it's not like
I think I lost it or anything but I wish to overcome this lazyness as
quickly as possible. Those words resonnate in a funny way together:
lazyness and quickly... well, that's what it is anyway or should I say
since it's a gradual process: overcome this lazyness at last. There,
that's better!

So I just got up at dawn, moment of the day which is a priviledged one
for me as to getting insights from my soul, guidance from my guides,
etc. In fact, I woke myself up talking (and my boyfriend too, poor guy
must been thinking: boy, even in her sleep she still keeps talking...!!)
and then I heard in my head what I thaught was my boyfriend asking me
what the dream was about and to go on talking, so, forcing myself out of
my sleep to do so has allowed me to remember my dream clearly. After
noticing that my boyfriend didn't really seem to be listening to me I
asked him: well you asked, didn't you? He said: no, I thaught it but I
didn't say it cause I'm trying to sleep here. But since everyone was
awake we did talk about the dream, I had the words Zen and Kyoto in
mind. I know nothing about Zen and he was able to help me by explaining
that Kyoto is a city in Japan where he believes that Zen master Dogen
would have come from and returned to. There was the music too,
resonnating in me, still is, Zen music played by an instrument
apparently called a Kyto or something like it. I'll certainly look into
these things further but at least I know a bit more for the moment what
this very inspirational dream was about thanks to my boyfriends
knowledge, but after that he asked me: can we please go back to sleep
now?! We as in him of course, cause I'm here writing! He had been awake
since a few minutes before me, I had apparently been talking for a bit
before I woke up myself. It sounded like I was getting instructions that
I was repeating to understrand better. I was with a teacher that was
giving me instructions about my yoga practice at large, not just the
positions but the life philosophy too. There were also two other men in
the dream, one other student like me and another Master probably, he was
just observing. I was at the third initiation before waking up, whatever
that means. I was doing a yoga position with the other student and the
teacher said to use a box of Cow Brand in lieu of a block to use as a
prop to help me do the exercise. The teacher said: you'll never manage
to get very far with that little old box! It was old and used and was
losing some of its content cause of a hole. I told him that I took it
from his counter that he was standing behind where he was selling the
stuff. He said: Oh! I'm sorry, it's worth a penny but I'll give it to
you instead, I'm afaid I might have hurt your feelings. He then gave me
a hug and being profoundly touched by his gesture I then promised: for
every grain that's in this box (as if it were sand) I shall do the
exercise, I shall work hard out of Devotion for You. He had given me the
most beautiful gift possible by offering me the box of sand that would
serve as a reminder or many vertues such as patience, constancy,
discipline, etc.

Oh, yeah, and the boyfriend is back to sleep now...

Thanks for your time,

Peace, Love, Light and Laughter!

Julie
