Dear Gregor,

Good to hear from you! :)) I'm sorry you are still suffering so.

The first part of this is pretty easy. :)) It is El Collie's Signs and
symptoms which is mirrored on our Kundalini-Gateway site. Others may come up
with other web sites, but I think this is still pretty much the gold
standard.

The following site refers to Itzhak Bentov's studies on possible
physiological bases for K. It also talks a bit about sound.

I wouldn't think of being hard on you! :)) Kundalini is never easy, even
for those of us who have had a gentle time of it.

You seem to have answered your own questions, for the most part. You are
gradually seeing what works for you and what doesn't. From you letter I
would say that TM definitely does *not* work. Perhaps it will again sometime
in the future, but certainly not at present.

You also know that if you meditate, you are sure to get some adverse
symptoms--that you will be in for a bout of pain. The good part of this is
that it is under your control--you can choose to meditate and accept some
pain, or not, as you wish.

You know by this time that the energy is not going to kill you and that the
pain from the energy is temporary, caused by bringing up the energy through
meditation.

I can understand that you want to get beyond this uncomfortable period of the
energy causing you pain, and I understand that you don't want to completely
give up on the energy entirely for fear that your body will become even less
able to accommodate it. You seem, by trial and error, to be able to, as you
put it, "feel in the body where the energy comes up for a while and then goes
back down." I think this is a great way of keeping the body tuned gently to
the energy without overdoing it.

Stretching exercises will probably really help you. Rubbing the body with
oils of various sorts might help with the skin problem. It probably can't
hurt, at least. (others probably can help here). Usually with pain it helps
to try to become one with the pain instead of trying to fight it. Not easy
to do, I know.

Remember, that meditation is only one of the many triggers to Kundalini.
Physical exercise (yoga, t'ai chi) and gentle breathing exercises might help
even out the energy. Many people have suggested you try alternate nostril
breathing. Have you tried it?

The main thing, though, is you must have patience. Gradually you will see
that your body can withstand the energy. Things may not be as they were
before, but you can make adjustments if you simply accept the energy and
realize you haven't done anything wrong, but that the energy is doing what it
needs to do.

We don't know much about your day to day life. Perhaps it's time to make
some changes in your life style??
