Thank you Lavina! Your blessings and synchronicity story is a lovely
gift. A maze for the faeries and children to play in, sounds perfect to me!
I used to tell a lot of faerie stories on the list... have not, in
years but search "faeries" in the archives and you will find them.
I have an odd relationship with my own gardens... I love to garden but
really am not very good at it, neglectful. I forget to water and weed.
Even so, I sometimes end up having an interesting relationship with the
plants. There is an overgrown rosebush in my front garden, I made a deal
with it, that I would not prune it so long as it kept blooming. It bloomed
all winter! Producing buds that froze before they opened, but even so! A
healer friend came to visit last year, and on her way out we were looking
at the rose. She suggested it would look better if there were more blooms
lower down, instead of them all being at the end of the branches, seven
feet up. Two weeks later, there was a single stem with 5 lovely roses on
it, right in the middle of the bush, three feet off the ground. It
delighted me!
The year before last, my garden was full of aphids... especially all
over the mint, meaning mint tea was aphid soup no matter how carefully I
washed the leaves. This spring I asked for there to be no aphids, thank you
very much... and this past year... no aphids! Aphid free zone.
In the house I lived in, before this one, there was a tulip tree... they
bloom with pretty pink and white tulip shaped flowers in spring, then the
flowers fall. I enjoyed the flowers so much, I wished the tree could bloom
all summer... and it did! All summer, there were always a few flowers on
the tree, out of season and very lovely.
I went past that house last week, it is demolished and there is a
double garage where the tulip tree used to be. Too bad... but, change is
the only constant.
I first experimented with plants, as a teenager wanting some proof that
the energy I was learning to work with, could really affect the external
world. I had read "Findhorn" and "the secret life of plants."
I planted three bean plants in three cups. One plant was the "control",
and got no special attention and ordinary water. One plant got lots of
love, talk and energy, and the third was watered with water I had charged
and blessed.
At the end of a few weeks, the one that was loved, was many times
larger than the control, and the one that got blessed water was halfway
between the two others in size. I was delighted.
I have been taking a much needed vacation from work and lists and
all... which I seem to need to do every so often, whenever I stop seeing
perfection and get bent out of shape. Especially in November... every
November I get pissed with my work and myself enough to want to throw it
all out, abandon all the things I usually love, and run off to Fiji to
paint... it is the perversity of my surrender. I give it all back to
Goddess and do other things till Goddess gives it back... and usually it
comes back a little different, with better detachment and an altered
perspective. I had thought the phase would not be over till solstice... but
joy has returned, a B-day gift!
