>1. Did you have a spontaneous awakening, or was it "planned?"

I'll answer this and also the question I think you want, that isn't this one
exactly.

I was born with awakened Kundalini. It is really not that uncommon.
According to the traditional teachings if a woman who has awakened K becomes
pregnant and has a child, the child is born with K awake. It may not be very
active for a long time (the young body can't sustain too much of a shock)
but it is awake. So a young woman is not just working for her spiritual
growth but for that of her unborn children.

There were signs, siddhes, as early as 4 or 5 yrs of age that I can recall
(precognition during dreams mostly, there was other stuff but some of that
was just as likely knowledge I brought along from most recent past life).
Not that anyone knew what that meant in those days where I was.

It dramatically became active in my 20s. Subsided and came back when I began
to work to get it moving in my 30s.

>2. What do you think triggered your awakening?

Awake.... see above.

Active in my 20s, sadly but honestly, "crashing the gates of heaven" as so
many of us did back then (also know as mind altering substances). Of course
that left a lot of gunk that I've had to clean out since then that actually
slowed my progress greatly as my process got more advanced later. And I mean
serious work was needed and I was delayed years behind where I should have
been with less work otherwise.

In my 30s activity came from serious practice.

>a. Was an "eastern" technique involved? ( i.e. meditation, Hatha Yoga,
>chanting etc.) and if so which one?

Before my 30s, no.

In and after my 30s:
Yes. Had done Hatha for several years, it was my entry into that world. My
actual practice had about 3 required asanas, mantra, mudras, meditation,
special diet (not just veggie, specific foods), Ayurvedic herbs, prayers,
and study.

>b. Was a strong emotion involved? Love? Fear? Pain? Despair? and if so was
>prayer involved?

In my 20s, beside the various kinds of dope, lots and lots of fear, my draft
lottery number was 90 and they were taking up through 120. Didn't want to
fight and die in a war we weren't going all out to win. Never was sure what
it was over either.

In my 30s, besides what I mentioned above one very very strong emotion,
DESIRE! I wanted it and wanted it badly.

>c. Do you think heredity is implicated?

Yes, see #1 above.

>d. Did you have an NDE (Near Death experience)?

No.

Namaste,

Joe
