Dear Hety, List,

I was curious and looked up this reference. Greenwell is quoting Motoyama,
("a Japanese parapsychologist and yogi") : "Motoyama calls the awakening of
chakras as of extreme importance in spiritual advancement, and states that
overuse of one chakra is dangerous and can cause disease and even death."

Swami Shivom Tirth also occasionally mentions something that will sound
frightening, such as if Prana and Apana meet "outside the Sushumna, it
implies some basic disorder in the system..." etc.

I find these statements rather irresponsible, as anyone with an active K can
imagine they might be overusing one chakra! :)) I certainly can! and since
most of my energy is outside the spine I can also imagine Swami Tirth's
statement applying to me.

I think we should make the assumption that K energy knows what it is doing,
and although the clearing may be harder for some people than for others, it
is very seldom a dangerous undertaking. IMO, it is fear which causes more
problems than any of these esoteric presumed problems.

As for foot pain, Lee Sannella seems to have been particularly interested in
toe/leg symptoms. Of 17 case histories he writes about, 12 mention leg or
toe pain or burning. (I suspect he specifically asked his patients about
this.) This pattern would correspond with Bentov's experiments. He writes,
"When the sensory cortex is stimulated electrically or mechanically,
paresthesias occur in the area of the body corresponding to certain points on
the cortex...As the roof of the lateral ventricles vibrates, it stimulates
first the toes, then the ankles, then the calves and thighs, and, as the
stimulus rounds the corner of the hemisphere, the pelvis is stimulated. As
the stimulus spreads along the cortex, it will affect the trunk, moving along
the spine toward the head." p. 139 Kundalini Experience.
