Subject: [K-list] More on Ida and Pingala

Kind of... but not really. I&P do have a masculine/feminine nature, but it
is really an active/passive nature. The fact is regardless of your privates
the dominance SHOULD change every couple of hours (1.5 to 3). If it doesn't
you have a real imbalance. If one is open a lot, say 75% of the time you
need to fix it and fix it quickly to prevent long term damage to your subtle
and physical body.

You can manipulate them for special purposes. I had a friend who spent a few
weeks with a cotton ball stuck up his nose for a few hours each day to build
his energy up and get his butt in gear. It worked. But he was under the
supervision of a Kundalini Master. To do otherwise would have been
dangerous. You can wear out your body if only one of the I&P nadis is
working right.

> >How would I go about balancing this out?
>Balancing is best done by integral yoga.

Most yoga systems, except the trendy "California" yogas, will do this OK.
For quick and simple fixes, use alternate nostril breathing (ANB). It will
balance the energy within 5 minutes. If you are in a place you can't do yoga
and you need balance, you can do that. It is commonly given as a prep for
meditation because you should be balanced to meditate.

A number of books on Pranayama have instructions on how to do it. If you
can't find them let me know and I'll post the instructions.

Namaste,

Joe
