  The shadow itself was everything I feared: insanity, demonic possesion, and everything left over from an upbringing that included Satan and Hell. This shadow was like a huge cloud outside of me. I couldn't fight it, or dispell it. I called on my helpers for assistance. They said this _was_ their help. I decided\realized that I must consume this even though it would likely destroy me. I opened and accepted it all. Lost my 'I' and became Jesus\Satan, Death\Creation, drank blood, ate shit, the whole shebang etc. (I can't believe I ate the whole thing) ;)

  The raising of K took me beyond the planet, through it's surrounding layers, past the ascended masters hang out at the outermost level, through the first void and all the way to multiverse central for a little sit down and chat, and then back again. (Whew, that was a mouthfull).

  But anyways, the key to the technique was a voluntary opening to, and a swallowing of, the darkness.
