Just a word or two from one of those picky people who likes to know what is
being talked about. I'm sure the Taoist Tai Chi Society has a copy right on
the name now. But the fact is ALL Tai Chi and Qi Kung is Taoist. It is
Taoist in origin and philosophy. And no group owns Taoism or the Tao.

I've seen a lot of confusion because a group got a copyright on the name
"Kundalini Yoga." The group, 3HO, is a religious organization so they can
keep teachers ont of their religion from claiming to teach Kundalini yoga.
And interestingly enough despite the fact that Kundalini yoga comes out of
Hinduism, they aren't Hindus.

Their methods fall under Tantra and Kundalini yoga but are by no means the
complete set of tools. Some of their stuff is said to unadvisable by some
Kundalini masters in India.

In the west it is possible to confuse things and even reverse reality. I
submit the example of copy rights applied for in hte US by a business for
the name "Basmati Rice." It would have applied only to their rice, grown in
TX, AR, & LA, and would have made it illegal to call any rice grown in
India, Basamati. So what has been Basmati rice for the last several thousand
years would no longer be available in the US under its real name. That
attempt failed when India, its national pride at stake, informed the US
government that if the US Patent Office didn't change their mind US products
would face unreal barriers trying to get into India.

Namaste,

Joe
