Hi Esa-- I will give you a little information here- if you'd like
more, let me know and I will send it off-board.

Here's a poem in Jamie Sam's and David Carson's Medicine Cards book:

Snake....come crawling,
There's fire in your eyes.
Bite me, excite me,
I'l learn to realize,
The poison transmuted,
Brings eternal flame.
Open me to heaven,
To heal me again.

The snake is about transmutation. (The shedding of its skin
symbolizes the life-death-rebirth cycle.)"If you have chosen this
symbol, there is a need within you to transmute some thought, action,
or desire so that wholeness may be achieved"
"It (transmutation) is the energy of wholeness, cosmic consciousness,
and the ability to experience anything willingly and without
resistance. It is the knowledge that all things are equal in
creation, and that those things which might be experienced as poison
can be eaten, ingested, integrated, and tramsmuted if one has the
proper state of mind."

All of the above is from the above mentioned book.

Animal-Speak by Ted Andrews says:
"The serpent and snake has long been a symbol of the sexual/creative
life force within humans as is taught in Eastern traditions. The
kundalini or serpent fire lies coiled at the base of the spine. As
we grow and develop, the primal energy is released, rising up the
spine. This in turn activates energy centers in the body and the
mind, opeing new dimensions and levels of awareness, health, and
creativitiy."

More.." A snake attacks quickly. It raises itself up and strikes
quick, hard, and true to its mark...Look for a change in conditions
and a movement to new life. Examine what is going on around you. Are
you needing make changes but aren't for some reason? Are you trying
to force change too quickly? Are you striking out at people and
shouldn't? Are you not striking and should? Remember that a snake
not only uses its venom and bite to overcome prey, but also for
defense. What is needing to be healed? What new opportunities are
surfacing that you need to strike out for and take advantage of?

...so those who have snakes come into their life will usually find
the changes and shifts occur quickly and are soon recognized and
defined."

Yellow can symbolize the wize use of power and authority, or it can
represent hunility, and the importance of service, according to a
dream interpretation book I have. Ted Andrews says that yellow in an
animal has to do with communication, optimism and inspiration. Pick
one!

I hope this helps!

p.s. I don't know a lot about much of anything, but Mom said "A wise
person doesn't know everything, they just know where to find the
answers." Therefore, I buy books!
