I want to respond to the comments about Gopi Krishna's writing. His
basic autobiography tends to set people off, but most of his work is
not about traumatic experiences. As for his opening experiences, I
think he knew most people would never experience what he did. I went
through some weird stuff at one point, but not much like what he did.
He actually tried to use K gurus in India, but they didn't understand
what he was going through, which is why his work is important to some
people. I do not agree that the KRN (Kundalini Research Network)
people look on K as a pathology. I have some issues with them, but
that is not one of them by a long shot. Most of them are very
knowledgable and have studied for years under Hindu masters. My issue
in general (it can make me angry, but overall I think it's sad) is
that so many people even in K circles get too set on what they know
and what they expereince and act like anyone who has different
experiences must be wrong. I once had a discussion with a KRN person,
and added a piece of my own experience (without conflicting with his
own) and I could feel the rage build up in his body before I got
halfway through the sentence. It's cliche but true that rage like
that is a fear that says "Don't you dare say anything different from
what my guru says!" The guy haad good things to offer, but he was a
bit touchy. So, how do we talk to each other evenly about our
differing experiences? Mother K knows more than any of us what we
need, so let's not make a big deal of it.
