So far I agree. It isn't necessarily a badge of anything. Most people don't
know about cleansing and this culture discourages it by adding junk and
garbage with almost every thing out there.

In general yes, but different traditions have different approaches to
meditation. And japa is much more helpful to me than watching my breath.
Some people don't credit japa as a kind of meditation, it isn't just
sitting, it is a lot of work, I'm getting a callous on my finger it is so
much work.

Your exposure is limited. Your opinion is wrong.

I've studied yoga/Vedanta for a decade and a half. I would recommend it
first and foremost for almost anyone with a Kundalini rising, particularly
for a troubled one because it has the most documented methods for dealing
with difficulties. Everything has been repeatedly tested and tracked many
times so it is the tool that is the easiest to use. I would likely have
agreed with you some time back. But I decided to look around and see what
else is out there.

I've been actively working as a shaman for a few years now and my shamanic
tradition does have cleansing techniques, good ones, powerful ones. They
aren't as subtle as yogic methods but they don't take as long either.

The purpose of a shaman is to serve. Period! There is no other reason to be
a shaman. If that is not a person's purpose, if they are doing it for a
selfish reason, then they are not a shaman, they are a witch in the most
pejorative sense of that word (as in certainly not Wicca). You would
classify the path as a combination of karma yoga and bakhti yoga with some
jana yoga thrown in, maybe more maybe less, depending on the personality of
the shaman.

Saying it that way is coming at it from the wrong end. There is nothing but
the Creator, K is a manisfestation of the Creator, as are each of us. And
let's not be too rough on the human body and the physical world. Without it
we couldn't get laid! :-)

So long from a very low state (but if you check you'll find Florida is
actually lower on the map than we are, poor bastards).

Namaste,

Joe
