:) Jesse, I have a great idea: invite the neighbor over to fart
around and yap about your inner selves.

I ran into a woman I used to "go to church" with... granted, this was
a Unitarian Universalist church, so going to church was more akin to
a business meeting or academic lecture, complete with the one-up-
manship, but I digress...

This woman, in the course of our conversation, asked if I didn't miss
a church community. I told her "Why should I? I have community all
around me... anytime I need guidance, someone on the street says
something remarkable that leads me to my answer." This is the truth,
Jesse... that we don't need a specific community to have community.
As hard as it might be, everyone around me is a fellow.

And here is another aspect of that: just because I feel community
with these folks doesn't mean we have to be intricately entwined in
each others' lives, incestuously informing each others' lives. Live
and let live... there is sustenance and freedom in that.

best of what serves,
Nina
