I have experinced what you described under several conditions:
Tummo Heat (K-energy), a self healing ocurrance.
God/dess saying, "Pay Attention!"
God/dess sending Affirmations that what you just heard, read or saw is
important.
God/dess sending a gift of healing ability. The heat is the sensation that
occurs when the healing energy is activated. This might occur along with some
internal revelation or message which brings you up one step farther toward
ascention, the same message which gives you the knowledge to heal.
