Hello Sean!

Your Friend is probably right. It could be your Inner Self, also called the
"Holy Guardian Angel". It is centered in the Heart Chakra (Tiphareth in the
Tree of Life) and your own personal wisdom. You should try communicating with
it. As far as I know, there´s no advice how to accomplish that, everybody
must find their own way. Meditation (=shutting out the senses and the inner
dialogue) might be the way to accomplish a better connection to that inner
self.
