To all members of the list who responded to my introduction post -

Sorry for the delay. I had to study the responses before replying.
Further the ISP in my area has closed its operations ... I can only
receive mail but transmission is not permitted. Every time I have to
make an STD call 200 kilometers away to get connected.

Dear David Bozzi,

Your existence in this World is indicative of the presence of God, the
Almighty Creator. God neither manifests nor talks to normal citizens of
the World. One has to realize God before one can develop the inherent
capability to establish contact with the Creator.

I shall narrate a story which shall make things more clear -

Once there lived a saint by the Riverside. People could see his daily
doings from the bank of the river. One person while on way to work used
to daily stop and watch the Saint performing his daily puja (prayers)
while standing in the shallow waters.

One-day he observed that the Saint while praying took freshwater into
his folded hands and left it with a shrill cry. When he had repeated the
process thrice ... his anxiety gave way. He approached the Saint for the
cause and was surprised to find a scorpion in his hands. What had
actually happened was ... a small flood in the vicinity had washed a
large tract of land and the scorpion had come floating in the river. In
order to save the life of the scorpion, the Saint tried to lift the
scorpion out of water and before the scorpion could be taken to the
river bank ... it stung! The sharp pierce made the Saint let out a wail
and resulted in the scorpion dropping back into the river. Again, the
Saint tried to lift the scorpion but it again stung!! The third time it
did so ... the stranger asked the Saint why was he interested in saving
the life of the scorpion which had a biting nature.

The Saint replied - even as a lowly insect the scorpion is not willing
to forego its inherent nature (of biting then how can I ... a human
being (the highest in the manifestation on Mother Earth) forego my habit
of saving the one in need!!!

This lesson in compassion is the foremost I have found anywhere in any
Scripture on Mother Earth till date. It was greatly instrumental in
controlling my wanton desires and ego while traveling on the path of
self-realization.

(ps. I shall be responding to the post of each and every member based on
merits as time permits. I beg your pardon for the delay.)

Vijay Kumar ...
