Subject: [K-list] Cat's Leper Story Another Version

Hello, Cat,

Thought you might enjoy yet another version to the leper story. It is very close to yours. A Chinese man told it to me many years ago. It has special significance for me. It was a great gift.

THE STORY OF THE LEPER

There was this man. He was a leper. Every day for forty years, dressed in dirty rags and enrobed in a filthy blanket, he sat outside the city gates. There he sat, in the dirt, with his beggar's bowl in his lap.

Every day he waited for someone passing by to give him something. Anything. Sometimes, a few people took pity on him and left several coins in his bowl so that he could eat that day.

One day, as a woman was passing by on her way to the well, she saw him. She stopped. Something no one had done in all these forty years.

She inquired of him, "How can I help you, sir?"

He told his sad story, "I have terrible leprosy and have suffered from it for forty years. Do you know what to do? I am so very sick."

She said, "I have heard of some wonderful healing waters that can be found inside the temple," and she pointed nearby, "over there."

The leper said, "That is too far for me to walk. I am very weak."

And the woman said, "Do not worry. You have only to lean up onto my back and I will gladly carry you there."

At that statement, the leper suddenly leapt up to his feet, throwing off the filthy soiled blanket. "That will not be necessary. Thank you."

That one tiny story sent me on a twelve year journey. I learned that it was a seventh chakra teaching and to understand it I had to go up to that level. I was learning the fourth level chakra intimately, cleansing at that time and did not think I was ready for the seventh level. You know, do it all in the proper progression. It was the old "trepidation angst" (nervous apprehension and anxiety).

The good news was that Spirit, determined to take me on yet another Snake Ride, drew me up to that Christ consciousness level to teach me about this story. And in the process I learned wholeness as well.

Spirit sustained me with the energy to remain on that level. The Snake Ride cycled me in and out of the fourth and seventh levels, round and round, learning this one story. I found it enfolds many stories upon yet more enfolding stories. As you unwrap one story, another beautiful package is presented to you. You unwrap that new package only to find another and another and yet another.

What came into my awareness were many other similar stories. And then I was led to observe "real life" situations that were illustrating the same concepts in this story. Then there were interactions in "real life" to bring experiences with those concepts. There there were the many different, at first seemingly disparate, levels of awareness that came in mediation (until the illustrations in "real life" came to explain them).

The more I cleansed my vision on the fourth level, the easier it became to absorb and understand and cooperate with the seventh level energy. I was able to increasingly sustain my place there and was learning balance. An odd thing occurs from absorbing this energy, it changes your appearance and even body structure. Amazing... Didn't count on experiencing those side benefits.

Little did I know that just asking, "So what does this story mean?" would start an incredible twelve year process.

It took me seven years, a cycle of time, just to get to the point of getting serious, not offering resistance, about diving deep enough to fully cleanse that fourth level. I thought I could progress without doing it, bypassing this critical step. You know, compartmentalize the pain and hurtful experiences into little boxes and then just sweep them under the rug to forget about them. Then I could "move on" with my life. Just one problem, that rug is showing an awful lot of conspicuous bumps. Even the rug is saying, "Do you really think you can walk around this many bumps and boxes? They're everywhere! There is no path around them."

No matter how great a taste "the Snake Slide" gave me and helped me to develop some proficiency on the "upper" levels, it always came back to cleansing my cloudy vision. Getting the answer to the story was not the instant gratification I thought it would be from what, on the surface, appeared to be a very simple story.

Nineteen years have been invested in learning this heart level intimately. Twelve years have been invested in cycling in and out of the fourth and seventh levels. The seventh level gave me the awareness of how to cleanse my vision on all the other levels (yet another long process but necessary to gain a higher percentage of proficiency and knowledge and understanding of these levels).

At the beginning of that twelve year process came this "leper story." It attracted me with its sudden "thrill" of energy. It pricked me with its simplicity.

It was a difficult time "wrapping my brain" around all that it was teaching. I was nibbling at the edges, enjoying the basic profound message it portrayed, yet I "knew" intuitively (it's that Snake popping up to remind me...) that I was only getting the mere "tip of the iceberg." I was frustrated to say the least. To have the awareness that there is so much more and not be able to grasp its fullness immediately.

But I trusted my Snake Ride to take me up and to sustain me in intervals, first briefly and then on to longer and longer time spent there, to begin the process to fully grasp this story and all the experiences that would follow from interacting with this unusual and profound level called "Christ consciousness."

Nineteen years. Boy was it ever worth it. What a Snake Ride.

The Story of the Leper. What exquisite beauty to be found.

Thanks for bringing this story back to me.

Much Love, truly, the Real kind,

Denise
