Subject: Re: [K-list] birds singing at nite
From: Kathy Bates

On 2001/06/11 23:12, Kathy Bates posted thus to the K-list:

The birds that sing at night here (in Oklahoma) are either owls or mockingbirds.

The mockingbirds mimick many other birds, and they like to perform
throughout the night, so that *might* well be what you're hearing. If
the song changes, that's likely a mockingbird.

It's perfectly natural, even if it isn't a nightingale, owl, *or*
mockingbird, there are other birds who sing at night, and diurnal
species will sing if there is enough artificial light, or if the moon is
bright (doesn't have to be full)...

So I don't think the night singing birds are a portent of evil...
