Subject: [K-list] riddle
From: Cleocatras

A leper sits outside the gates of the Holy City. His skin is covered with
suppurating sores. As people pass into the Holy City he cries out in hunger
and pain, "Please help an old leper."

Most people would drop a few coins into his basket, some would shake their
heads in sympathy. One day a woman came. She watched the leper for a long
time. Finally she approached.

"Inside the Holy City are waters that will cure you. Lean on me and I will
take you in where you can become well. "

The leper stood and reached out his hand, placing it on her cheek.
"For forty-years I have sat here waiting. You are the first to offer me a
cure. Yet I will not take it from you. Never-the-less, I will give you a
gift."

The leper picked up his blanket and walked into the gates,
What gift did the woman receive?
What did she do with it?
