Subject: [K-list] What's good about K?
From: Steve Kowalchuk

...just came out of hiding to touch on Bao's request for comments on the
value proposition of Kundalini...

Seems to me that the space-time existence of human beings is a
4-dimensional "shadow" of a greater existence, kind of like a person's
shadow on the sidewalk. The perspective of the human shadow is very
finite and limited, comparatively speaking, and presumably by design
(could be by chance, but that's outside the scope of this
conversation). Likewise it seems human beings have somewhat limited
access to the greater self, and that limited access tends to break a lot
of the local assumptions about how and why stuff works in the space-time
world.

Presumably, this local world is composed of some set of "default"
conditions, most notably the law of entropy. This law may be the only
true natural law unique to space-time, as it is the law which governs
atomic interactions, chemical and physical phenomena, etc. The only way
to override this default condition is to add energy into the space-time
universe from another source. What is this source? Well, presumably it
is something outside the scope of space and time, which in one instance
can be our connection to our greater selves.

The trigger to adding energy from our greater selves, from what I can
tell, is based in belief and will. By accessing our greater self and
drawing from it we can do just about anything imaginable. However, one
needs to believe that greater universe is accessible and have the will
to disentangle oneself from the assumptions we have created because of
our 4-dimensional point of view.

Ok, so what does this buy us? I mean, if we're human to learn about
limitation and loss, to understand certain pieces of this interesting
puzzle we call existence, to be entertained without seeing the
machinations behind the magic, then it appears an enhanced perspective
is not needed. But then why were we given the opportunity to connect
with our greater selves? (hmmm....again wandering outside the
scope...perhaps more on this later)

What Kundalini does for me is enhance my ability to sense my greater
universe and understand both sides of this human existence equation, as
a frail physical human and an "omnipotent" spiritual entity. Thus, our
4-dimensional reality is an interactive and relative proposition for
me. I can impose my will on the local universe, bend space and time a
little, that sort of thing.

The drawbacks? Well, worlds collide when Kundalini strikes. It's like
lightning, seemingly uncontrollable and unpredictible in many ways. But
if you can channel it, live with it, come to understand it and love it
for its own nature...sky's the limit.

It takes a certain kind of approach to living with Kundalini. It takes
gobs of patience and practice. It takes focus and perspective. And
often, for all that hard work, nothing seems to "happen". Kundalini,
though, is only a conduit through which enlightenment (in a general
sense) is available. To seek Kundalini for its own end provides little
real benefit. As the sages like to say, there are many paths...

Is Kundalini dangerous? Hmm...is fire dangerous? Or water? Or lead?
Or... Kundalini, when approached recklessly, is probably more difficult
to recover from than most earthbound stuff. And, like awareness, it's a
one-way door...once K walks into your life, it's almost impossible to
turn it off. Weigh these consequences before you sign on for the trip.

Of course, for those of us who had spontaneous eruptions of K-fire, we
were put on the damn bus before we knew what the hell happened, eh? ;-)

Namaste,

Steve
